#TopTenTuesday: Let it Snow!

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a: Books Set in Snowy Places (If snow isn’t your thing, pick another kind of place and share books set there!)

I was low-key tempted to go rogue today because it’s been so incredibly hot in Indonesia lately that the thought of snow makes me wanna cry (cos I want it so bad, lol). But then I thought, why not try manifesting some cooler climes by thinking about all the snowy places that I’ve been to in my head and those that I’m looking forward to visiting one day! Book titles marked with an * are still on my TBR.

*One by One by Ruth Ware
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
Northern Lights by Nora Roberts
Whiteout by Adriana Anders
*Otherworldly by F.T. Lukens

The Snowman by Jo Nesbo
The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones
Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
*Beartown by Fredrik Backman

What are your favourite books with snowy settings? Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR?

  1. A couple of books I’ve read recently that you may enjoy are Secret Nights and Northern Lights by Megan Oliver and The Living and the Dead by Christoffer Carlsson. As for wanting to see snow, you are more than welcome to come visit me any time! We had our first significant snowfall a couple of weeks ago and we haven’t seen the grass since.

    • Ooh, thanks for the rec, Pam! Both of those books sound right up my alley, especially Secret Nights and Northern Lights though! 😍 I’ll be checking to see which of them I can get my hands on! I would love to visit Canada—honestly, it’s on my bucket list. My cousin lives there (has been living there for the past 15 years now) and I still haven’t visited once… Gotta make time (and learn to save more, lol)! 😅

  2. We have some overlap, but that’s not surprising! I could have put all of Backman’s books on my list. Between Shades of Grey is so good, but so heartbreaking. All of these covers are making me so cold and I’m already freezing. haha. Great list, Dini!!

    • Ngl, I was pretty proud with how many different places I managed to find 🤭 I read Hannah’s book not long after I finished The Nightingale (I’m clearly a masochist, haha) and it emotionally devastated me too, but you’re right, it was a much slower build up! If you wind up giving it another go, I hope you enjoy it, Sam 🙂

  3. What I wouldn’t give for a bit of warmth lol! We’ve had some miserable, cold and windy weather here, but I’d be a lot happier if we got some snow lol. I’ve only read a couple of these, Buffalo Hunter Hunter and Spinning Silver, but it looks like a great list 🙂
