We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Modern Books You Think Will Be Classics In The Future (submitted by Veros @ Dark Shelf of Wonders)
I actually love the topic that Veros suggested today, but I’m going to be a bit lame and go rogue. Why? Because I genuinely cannot recall more than five books that would fit the topic, even though I know without a doubt that I’ve definitely read more than five books that I hope will be classics in the future.
I can already foresee reading other people’s lists and going OMG, YES! HOW DID I FORGET THIS?! But it is what it is because my brain is not on today (written in advance on Sunday!), so while I’d love to come back to this topic at some point in the future, for this Tuesday, I’m going rogue!
I’m continuing with the alphabet challenge and I’m now to the letter “O”. I’m going to spotlight “O” titles that are still on my TBR!
Check out the other letters of the alphabet: A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K | L

One of Our Kind by Nicola Yoon
One Night on the Island by Josie Silver
One for All by Lillie Lainoff
One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad
On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
Only A Monster by Vanessa Len
Only Ever Yours by Louise O’Neill
Ophelia After All by Raquel Marie
Our Favorite Songs by Anita Kelly

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? What are some of your favourite books that start with the letter “O”?

On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous looks intriguing.

It’d be interesting to see if any do! I can think of two off this list that sound like they have classic potential. Even though I haven’t read them yet, I think I’d love to see it happen 🙂

I still have to read On The Come Up. I did enjoy On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous. I’d like to see that one maybe become a classic as well!

Based on what I’ve heard of that book, I feel like On Earth could possibly have the makings of a classic. I can’t wait to check it out 🙂 I hope you enjoy On the Come Up if/when you get to it!

I haven’t read any of these either, but to be honest, I only knew a couple of them. The cover of One for All caught my attention though.

I feel like it’s been years since I heard people talk about One for All but it was the cover that initially caught my eye too around the time it came out 🙂

Omg girl, same! I’ve seen some very mixed things about it but I’m looking forward to giving it a go. It sounds very unique!

Same! I think that’s why I keep putting it off bc of the mixed reviews

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous is a book I read in 2022, but still sticks with me to this day.

ahah sorry I picked a hard one, Dini 😝Honestly, I totally get it I felt the same when reading other people’s lists like oh yes I should have added that one as well 😂😂!! One for All sounds fun and One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This is on my TBR. And funnily enough I’ve seen a lot of people put Ocean Vuong’s book for the topic so maybe you’ve got a future classic there on your shelf 😉Here’s my list.

Hahaha, it’s just my brain and memory, Veros! 🤪 I loved the topic you picked and I also loved seeing everyone’s answers because I was right and said “how could I forget that book!?” quite often as I was blog hopping 🤣 I’ve heard so many good things about Ocean’s book and I can totally see it becoming a classic one day (based on what I’ve heard of it, lol).

Yeah I loved seeing everyone’s answers too that was fun! & No worries, I feel you! hehe 😝. I’ve heard great things too which makes me want to try them even if they’re not my usual reads.

I was in the same boat as you. I have no idea what will be a modern classic. One Night on the Island is a favorite of mine. That place was great!

I just bought One Day Everyone Will Have Been Against This. I hope it is good. Did you like it?
Thank you for visiting my blog and making a comment about modern classics. I am responding very late as I was out of commission after receiving a flu and a COVID shot on the same day. Gulp. Not a good idea.

I have not read it yet either. All of these books are still on my TBR 🙂 Ooh, flue and COVID shot on the same day sounds quite rough! I hope that you’re feeling better now and have recovered well, Anne!

I also had a hard time with this week’s topic, though it was the other way around, I found too many. I settled on twelve in the end. LOL
