We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Cozy/Atmospheric Reads
Cosy books have always existed but I feel like in recent years, the “cosy” genre has kind of taken the reading world by storm! While I’ve always had my eye on cosy mysteries, my first introduction to cosy books was through cosy fantasy in 2022. Since then, however, I have to admit that I’ve mostly been adding cosy books to my TBR and I haven’t actually been reading most of them… Oops! 😬
I don’t know about you, but my TBR is constantly growing and is slightly uncontrollable, so it’s no surprise that I’ve got more books waiting to be read than ones I’ve actually read. For this list today, I’m sharing 10 cosy books that are on my to-read list and that I’m still hopeful to read at some point this year! 🤞🏽

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong
The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst
Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne
A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna

Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association by Caitlin Rozakis
The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree
The Kamogawa Food Detectives by Hisashi Kashiwai

Do you enjoy the cosy genre? What are some of your favourite cosy books? Have you read any of these or are they also on your TBR?

I’ve been thinking about trying Kashiwai. Those books look so good.

They do look good! 😍 The covers always make me want to eat ramen (and I have a feeling the stories will also not fail to make me hungry, lol)…

I’m curious about The Teller of Small Fortunes.

I’ve really enjoyed both Rozakis’ books! They’re cozy, but there’s a sharpness there too which balances it nicely.

I’ve got both of them on my TBR and I don’t know which one I feel like reading first 🤭

I really enjoy the Tales from the Cafe series. They are great listens too. I need to get to the next one soon! I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them. 🙂

Oh! I don’t know why I thought you’d already read Remarkably Bright Creatures! 🤭 Have you read the whole Tales from the Cafe series? You’ve got me curious about the audiobook now!

I have only read the first 2! I need to keep going though. I really enjoyed the audio!

Oh goodness, yes. My TBR is way out of control lately! Though that said, I’ve read several of the books on your list. I found that Baldree’s series of cozy fantasy has so far been a good balance of cozy and conflict.

I don’t know why I haven’t read the second book in Baldree’s cosy fantasy series because Legends & Lattes is one of my all-time faves but I’m looking forward to giving it a go before the next one comes out!

I’ve really enjoyed them both! I hope you like book two. It’s a little bit different in tone, but still just as cozy and fun.

I recently read The Grimoire Gramma School and I loved it so much. Also Legends and Lattes was so good, I didn’t realize there was a prequel!

That’s awesome! I actually haven’t seen a lot of readers mention Grimoire Grammar School on the blogosphere so it’s great to hear you loved it! Legends & Lattes is one of my faves and I can’t wait to read the prequel. I can’t believe I haven’t yet already 🤭

A few years ago when I retired and got back into reading, it was cozy mysteries that got me really interested. Now I love cozy stories, whether fantasy, romance, or even women’s fiction. I’ve read a few of these and have a couple on my TBR. They all look cozy to me, Dini.

I keep trying to decide if I want to read on in the Legends & Lattes series.

I would say a big yes but I’m quite partial to Legends & Lattes. 🤭 If you like the sound of a tired warrior orc who just wants to settle down and open a coffee shop and bring the magic of coffee (and pastries!) to a new town, then I would highly recommend it. Especially for the nice cosy found family vibes! 🙂

I feel that so much of the Japanese lit I have read falls into the cozy category. I love The Reading List. That book was great. Need more love.

Oh yes, so many of the Japanese and Korean translated fics these days fall squarely in the cosy genre space! I’ve only read one but have so many on my TBR. 🤭 I think I added The Reading List to my TBR after seeing your review, lol. I hope to get to it soon!

Whattt!!! I love the cozy genre but somehow haven’t read any of these… Remarkably Bright Creatures is at the top of my TBR, though, so hopefully I get the chance to pick it up soon! It’s got such a gorgeous cover as well. Love this post – will definitely refer to it the next time I’ve got nothing to read 😊❤️

I feel like I could definitely say that about lots of cosy books. There are so many out there (especially with the translated Japanese and Korean fics fitting perfectly into the genre these days)! 🤭 I hope you enjoy Remarkably Bright Creatures! I’ve heard so many good things about it and I’m very curious how it’ll read.

Cozy mystery is my absolute favorite! I do enjoy a good cozy romance as well, though. I have a cozy fantasy, but haven’t read it yet. I need to, because all signs point to me adoring it!
