We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time (This week was originally scheduled to be a non-bookish freebie, but I realized how close it was to the last non-bookish freebie we did. If you’re super on top of it and already wrote your post for this week, post it anyway! If you’d rather do a non-bookish freebie, go for it!)
You know, this week’s topic sounds fun but with how bad my memory is due to my insomnia and general lack of sleep, it doesn’t take long for me to forget the details of practically everything? Seriously, it doesn’t take me long at all! 😅 So reading a book after a year+ (or sometimes even after a few months) would already feel like I’m reading it again for the first time with all the details I forget, lol.
All that’s to say I’m going rogue today and continuing with my alphabet challenge. We’ve come to the “Ls” and I’m 99.9% sure that I will have more options to choose from compared to the last three letters of the ‘bet. These are also books that are still on my TBR!
Check out the other letters of the alphabet: A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K

Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo
Last Call at the Local by Sarah Grunder Ruiz
Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson
Love at First by Kate Clayborn
Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly

Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori
Little Thieves by Margaret Owen
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian
Love Radio by Ebony LaDelle

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? What are some of your favourite books that start with the letter “L”?

I started Last Night at the Telegraph Club and never finished it because the library checkout swooshed it away before I was done. I really need to get it back and finish it, or really start it again and then finish it. Thanks for the reminder!

Ooh, hope that you’ll be able to check it out again to finish it 🙂 And I hope that youo enjoy it too!

I feel like I don’t see it talked about a lot, especially after the first book came out but I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I can’t wait to check it out 🙂

I read Like Water for Chocolate way back in the day, and I remember enjoying it but that’s about all I remember. I personally DNFed Little Thieves, but I’m definitely in the minority for that one. Most people seem to love that whole series.
I hope you enjoy these when you read them!

Same here—I read Like Water For Chocolate back when I was in middle school and I remember enjoying it, especially the recipes, but that’s the only thing I can remember after all these years! 🤣 It’s one of those “childhood faves” that I’m hoping to re-read as an adult, lol. Ooh, interesting to know about you DNFing Little Thieves. I was actually just saying that I don’t see it mentioned a lot in the blogosphere. I totally forgot what it’s about but I’m still keen to check out the first book, lol. Hopefully I will enjoy it!

I hope you enjoy it! I follow a few people who are big fans of Little Thieves, and have loved the whole series, but other than the people who love it, I don’t see Little Thieves talked about much either. Given my blog friends who loved it, I was surprised that I disliked it so much. But hopefully you will be one of those who likes it!

I’ve not read any of these before but I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE pandas (I have a tattoo of one on the back of my leg) 😀 Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday post – https://justreadjessie.blog/2025/10/14/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-wish-i-could-read-again-for-the-first-time/

I went down a rabbit hole counting the similar first words of these books and thinking about other books!

There are a lot of titles with similar L words and I think I could’ve done a whole post on the “Love” and “Last” words alone (definitely the former if not also the latter)! 🤭

I read Like Water for Chocolate, though I can’t tell you much about it. LOL! Love at First was ok, some people loved it. But I don’t think it was for me at the time.

That’s one of the books that I read back in middle school, so I also can’t tell you much about it except for that I remember enjoying it! 🤭 I haven’t seen a lot of people talk about Clayborn’s earlier books but I loved her book “Love Lettering” and I was so excited to try Love at First! Hopefully, I will enjoy it 🙂

Last Night at the Telegraph Club is one I want to read. For some reason, my library doesn’t have it.

I just learned from another comment on my post that it’s now a banned book, so perhaps that could be why your library doesn’t have it? Unless it just hasn’t been requested by anyone… (not sure if that’s how it works, lol!) I hope that you can manage to find a way to get your hands on it though! 🤞🏽

Late Night at the Telegraph Club is one I wanted to read. I saw that it’s banned so now I want to read it more. I also want to get to Little Thieves at some point!

So sad knowing that it’s banned but definitely even more reason to give it a read! I hope you enjoy both Telegraph Club and Little Thieves whenever you get to them 🙂

I love the Little Thieves series. I’m going to have to start doing this alphabet list or colors or something easy when these TTT topics get too hard lol because I feel you, sometimes I just can’t think!

Yes! This alphabet series is great for when you don’t want to think about whatever the topic is that week or for an alternative topic, lol. It’s also kind of fun to see what letters are the most popular and which are the least, lol.

I remember enjoying Like Water For Chocolate when I read it back in middle school but I remember nothing else about it, lol. Love in the Time of Serial Killers is high on my TBR! I hope you enjoy it if you give it a try 🙂

I thought the same thing with the prompt this week. xD I was like, oh, I’ve already solved this problem: poor memory retention. Huzzah! Finally, a perk to not being able to remember anything for more than 30 seconds lol.
You need to read Little Thieves! It was so much fun. 🙂

Hahaha, no but seriously! With enough time and enough weird distractions buzzing around my brain, I can easily forget what a book is about within a week of finishing it, and at worst in a few days 🤣 Definitely the perks of having goldfish memory!

What a fun mix of books! I loved Last Night at the Telegraph Club, and really enjoyed Like Water for Chocolate and Love in the Time of Serial Killers too. I think I’ve read a bunch of “L” books, but probably the most unique title in my reading history would be Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses!

Nice selection up there. I adored Thompson’s, Ruiz’s, and Clayborn’s books. I liked Like a Love Story, but there was one choice the author made at the end that really frustrated me and didn’t seem to fit (IMO).

Oh no, that makes me curious about what happens at the end but also kinda worried, lol. I think I do have this on my digital library already but I’d need to check. Hopefully, I will get to it at some point in the near-ish future 🤭
