#WWWWednesday: 24 September 2025

Leslie and I are planning two group reads in the coming months! Find more details on Leslie’s page or at the end of this post!

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

It’s been a bit of a slow reading week as I haven’t really been able to figure out my reading mood. So since last week, I’ve only managed to finish 2 books!

Dinner for Vampires: Life on A Cult TV Show by Bethany Joy Lenz ★★★★★
I was a huge fan of One Tree Hill and aside from Brooke, Haley was my favourite character on the show. Haley and Nathan were my OTP for years—I loved them to bits! So, it’s shocking to learn what was going on behind the scenes in Lenz’ life during that time (and beforehand). There were some serious gut-punching moments that took my breath away and I can only imagine what it would feel like for Lenz to live with everything that happened. It’s heartbreaking but I’m so glad she got to tell her story! I did immersive reading and found the audiobook narrated by Lenz really good! Unsurprisingly, she vocally acts out everything very well and we even get unexpected narration cameos too, which was so fun!

A Pho Love Story by Loan Le ★★★☆☆
I buddy read this with Leslie because we’d both had it on our TBRs for ages and we read it for one of our challenge prompts. This was tough because we both liked this so much less than expected! I would say this is less a romance than simply a contemporary YA as the focus was more on the family feud— which is totally fine because I enjoyed it. Sadly, this was so poorly paced that it was a struggle to get into, plus it was also 100 pages too long for what we got. I can appreciate it (and loved all Vietnamese rep) and to an extent I would still recommend it to young readers who love books about food, family, and yes, a bit of romance, but it defo ended up being a mixed bag for us!

  • A Man Called Ove19% ⇢ This has been on my TBR for years and I always felt a little too intimidated by it because what if I don’t love it like everyone else!? I decided to swallow those fears today cos I finally picked it up. I’m not far in, but I’m liking what I’ve read, and I can tell this will be an emotional read!
  • Katabasis83% ⇢ I’m still enjoying this, but the content makes for pretty heavy reading! I know things are only going to get worse as we go along, but it does make for a great buddy read because there are a lot of thoughts to discuss!
  • Lady’s Knight6% ⇢ I’m really only in the beginning stages of this but my interest has been piqued! I’m already liking the contrast between these two characters and I’m keen to see where their stories go.

A few buddy reads but it’s mostly where the mood takes me!

As I mentioned above, Leslie and I are planning group buddy reads in the upcoming months. If you’re interested in joining, you can reach out to either of us via comments or DM us on socials!

  • The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee — We’re planning a group read for the last three months of 2025. We’ll start in October and read one book per month through December. It’ll be a re-read for many but you’re welcome to join even if you haven’t read it yet and have been wanting to! 💚
  • Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman — Yes, you’re seeing that right. We’re currently reading DCC but we’re planning to start (what we hope will be) a larger group read in January 2026 to prepare for the release of of book 8 in June 2026! GET EXCITED! 🧨

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

  1. postponed last week’s Jayne Anne Krentz as others turned up. I’m currently reading Don’t Say a Word by Allison Brennan.
In the last week I’ve read the following: 🥁
1 Better than Baby by Lane Hayes.
2 Tracking the Alpha by Eve Langlais.
3 Touch the Stars by Lea Kirk.
4 Alien Spare by Cara Bristol.
5 Deadly Storms by Christine Feehan.

I’m also reading Goodness Godless Me, an autobiography by Barry Duke, a friend of mine. As it’s an autobiography, I dip into it, a few chapters at a time.

    Not sure what’s up next.
