Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [296]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading The Wicked Lies of Habren Faire by Anna Fiteni. I’m honestly struggling to really get into it and I’m not 100% sure why. I feel like there’s something about the writing that keeps losing me. I often find myself zoning out which means I’ve read multiple sections multiple times, and I’m making very slow progress. I hope that changes soon!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

It was a bit of a quieter work week as the country also contend with a lot of high emotions and tension due to the riots in the city the previous week that also continued and extended to other cities. It’s scary to hear people talk about the similarities they’ve noticed between these protests and our violent history during the 80s. The people have made their voices loud and their demands clear, and I hope that the government is smart enough to listen to them. ❤️‍🩹 On a less somber note, my cousin came back from Singapore on Friday and bought me two books that I’m very keen to read, and I also treated myself today to some Pop Mart purchases because I actually left the house, lol.

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

the little mess you made – the favors, finneas, ashe

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

  1. I’m sorry to hear of the continuing tensions lovely – that can’t be easy to experience. But I’m glad you got some new book gifts – the best kind of present to dive into another world – these are both on my tbr so I look forward to hearing what you make of them 🙂 xo

  2. I’m sorry that it’s still so tense at the moment. There seems to be a lot of unrest around the world at the moment. I hope you enjoy your new books though. The Guide to magical inn keeping is just lovely

  3. The Wicked Lies book looks interesting and I thought about buying it, but then I saw they’d changed the cover to this one lol. Which isn’t bad but I liked the pinker cover more. But maybe that’s ok in the end since it sounds like it’s not super grabbing you. 🥴

    • Ooh, I didn’t even realise that there was a different cover cos I’d not seen anyone talk about this before I saw it come up for the tour. It took a little while to get into but I’ve found myself enjoying bits more today. I think for me it’s just tough reading about a character that’s so rude, selfish, and basically out to ruin everyone’s enjoyment because they aren’t having a good time, you know? It’s testing my appreciation for unlikeable characters but I’m not hating it, haha.
