We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri. This is a re-read buddy read and we’re close to finishing it! The writing is just as sharp, the story as action-packed, and the characters just as compelling (and equally frustrating) as I remember. Such fantastic world-building and so much emotion packed into this book!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

I don’t know if anyone else felt that this week was weird, but it definitely started on a funky note! The energy in the office was kind of wild and everyone seemed to be snapping at each other for the first two days of the week. πŸ˜… Following last week’s illness, it took a while for my body to feel energized again but I was feeling well enough to try going to the gym again on Wednesday. Even though it was a struggle, it felt good to go and just have that time for myself (accompanied by Dungeon Crawler Carl)! There was really not much else that happenedβ€”it was just a very hectic work week (and I thought everyone was on summer hols) so I was beyond glad when Friday rolled around.

I’ve been focusing on my two buddy reads this week and I’ve been making slow but steady progress with both. I read a huge chunk of my current book yesterday and I finished one today. I’ve also managed to catch up on the week’s comments although I need to get on blog hopping!

  1. I really need to reread the Jasmine Throne and then the next two books now that the trilogy is complete. I loved it when I read it so I’m not sure why I haven’t got around to reading the others yet.

    • I totally get what you mean about enjoying it yet not continuing the series and being unsure why. I don’t know why I didn’t continue after finishing the first book but I’m so glad that I re-read it now because I forgot so much! I’ve just started the second book yesterday and the pace already feels much faster. I’m so anxious about what’s going to happen though cos so much can go wrong! πŸ˜…

To be fair i’m always snappy ahah (i’ve been having some issues with a coworker.. which ofcourse I’ve gotten talked with but not her, creating the problem.) and as we’ve been out of popular matcha for a month- being consistantly asked about it is kinda bothersome πŸ™ˆ but this week I hadn’t been feeling good either, too many air in my stomach. Hopefully you do feel better now, too!

    • Haha, okay fair, because I’m always pretty snappy too since I always don’t get enough sleep and just can’t deal with people! 🀣 I can usually maintain my cool though, but last week was like no control. It was very weird! Hope your issues with your coworker get sorted out thoughβ€”that’s the worst, especially when they keep getting away with things and you get “punished” for it. I hope that you’re feeling better now as well!

  4. I hope it’s not the first week of back to school that got everyone so snippy haha I bet it was hectic in the mornings + traffic in Jakarta getting back to unbearable level 😬 Also, I love how you’ve been listening to Niki’s these past 2 weeks πŸ™‚

    • I never thought I’d say this but I’ve been kind of surprised by the traffic in Jakarta over the past weekβ€”and I mean that positively! 🀣 It hasn’t been as bad as I expected, especially with the start of school, and I’ve been wondering what’s going on, haha. Let’s hope that it stays this way though (and that I haven’t jinxed myself now πŸ₯΄). Yeah, NIKI has been on repeat! Love this album πŸ™‚
