We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Books I’d Like to Re-read (Share either your favorite books that you enjoy re-reading or books that you’d like to read again!) (Submitted by Becky @ Becky’s Book Blog)
I could’ve sworn that this topic came up more recently in this weekly meme, but it seems the last time I made re-read lists were back in 2021 and 2020. There are at least three books from 2021 that would make my current list, as I’m hoping to re-read at least one of them this year. My motive for reading these is two-fold—either I want to continue the series it’s part of and/or I want to re-read it so I can review it. My memory is so poor that some of these I read as recently as last year, and I have already forgotten what happens, although I can remember enjoying it and wanting to continue the series. Time always gets away with me though!

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
Malice by John Gwynne
The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson
Ocean’s Echo by Everina Maxwell

Have you read any of these and if so, would you want to re-read them? What makes you want to re-read a book other than the simple fact of loving the story?

I tend to reread previous instalments before carrying on with series too. I’m trying not to with any from last year but if I read them earlier than that I still am 😂
I adored the Daevabad series and enjoyed The Winners Curse although I can’t really remember it now 🙈 I need to reread that one because I think there’s a companion series 🤔 I loved Truly Devious as well but never finished the series.
You also have a few here that I’m desperate to read but somehow haven’t gotten to yet 🙈 but it’s always lovely seeing how many books we have in common.
I hope you enjoy your rereads whenever you get to them and hope that the sequels end up being worth the wait.

I think the reason why I’m so bad at finishing series is because by the time the next or even final book rolls around, it’s been so long that I remember close to nothing. Well, even if it hasn’t been that long, my memory is so poor that I’ll also probably remember very little 🤣
Ooh, I didn’t know that there was a companion series to the Winners Curse books! That makes me more excited to pick them up again. I have very gorgeous editions cos I got the special Illumicrate ones back in my days of overly indulgent spending… 👀
Well, if you ever feel like reading any of these together, just let me know whenever! Haha, I’m always down for a buddy read and often, forget certain books are on my TBR or re-read list until someone says they want to read it too or asks me if I want to read it 😂 I hope you enjoy the ones still on your TBR whenever you get to them though!

I get that as I always feel like I should reread previous instalments for a refresher 😂 but sometimes there just isn’t time. So instead the whole thing gets put on hold 🙈
I think there is 🤔 I feel like one of the authors duologies is set in the same world at least but I could be wrong…and now I’m doubting myself. Ooh I don’t think I’ve ever seen those but I bet they’re stunning. Okay I googled them and they’re so pretty 😍😍 such a special collection to own.
Thank you, I’ll try to remember that (as I’m not entirely sure when I’ll pick them up, I hope a few will be soonish though). I’m probably the same tbh. I’m always spotting books I should have added to my priority TBR after all 😂 and thank you 🥰

I need to read Ocean’s Echo for the *first* time, but I’d like to reread Winter’s Orbit too.

I was thinking about whether I wanted to re-read Winter’s Orbit or not and I definitely do but I think I’d like to re-read Ocean’s Echo first 😂 I hope you enjoy Echo whenever you get to it though. Although I was unsure about it at first, I think I wound up liking it more than the first book by the end!

I’ve read Tuesdays with Morrie and some other books by Mitch Albom, very good reads.
Here is my list.

I remember loving Tuesdays with Morrie when I read it back in high school or maybe even middle school? But I have forgotten almost everything about it. I saw someone talking about it the other day and it made me want to read it again immediately!

Comments like this make me aware how old I am. LOL But yes, it is a great book for all ages.

I remember loving that book but now remember so little about it 🤭 Thanks for stopping by!

I did love my first encounter with Stevie. That book had a great story, great characters, and I was totally absorbed.

Caught myself almost thinking “Stevie who?” it’s been so long since I picked up that book! 🤣 I can’t wait to re-read it. I did remember being so absorbed and ready to binge the whole series so I don’t know why I didn’t!

I remember being so into it two books in and I was ready to pick the third one up right away but then… I never did! 😬 Can’t wait to dive back into it though!

I’ve reread The Mistborn series at least twice. I love that series so so much — it’s p much my idea of a perfect story!!

It’s been on my re-read list for so long at this point I just gotta say screw the other books and make time for it! I think I’m worried it won’t live up to my love for it on re-read 🫣 But hopefully it’ll work out right for me!

I read Tuesdays with Morrie a very long time ago but don’t really remember much about it anymore.

Same here! But I saw a booktuber talking about it the other day and it made me want to pick it up immediately so I’ve been on the hunt for my old copy (and still have yet to find it, lol)!

Ocean’s Echo was on my list this week, too! It is such a great book, and I’ve been wanting to revisit it. I totally get you on needing to re-read books in a series. At least half of my list is series starters that I need to re-read for refreshers. lol. Glad to know I’m not the only one with a bad memory. lol.

I remember thinking that I wasn’t going to love it as much as Winter’s Orbit but then I think by the end, I wound up liking it more! I can’t wait to re-read it and I hope that you love it whenever you re-read it as well 😊 Haha, oh no, my memory is the worst so I’m with you there! This is probably why it takes me a billion years to finish a series 😂

I’ve only read 1 from your list, and it is one that I reread last year with a friend, and it was so much fun doing that. It’s The Winner’s Curse.
Rereading is so cool but I don’t do it as often as I’d like. It’d be cool to do so before certain sequels but it is also not an easy task.

I remember seeing you say that you were re-reading The Winner’s Curse series and I’m so glad that you had such fun doing it! 😃 I love the idea of re-reading more than I actually re-read as well. There are just so many books to read and never enough time, isn’t there?!

I wish I reread more as well, but it is difficult when there are so many other new books you want to read. Still, I still try to reread a bit every year.

Well this is very timely as I’m currently reading reading my way through the In Death books by JD Robb.
It’s a bit unusual for me although I have read the following
All the sci-fi books by Veronica Scott
Widdershins series by Jordan L Hawk
Society of Gentlemen trilogy by KJ Charles

And you’re doing so well with the JD Robb re-reads! It’s amazing 🥳 Ooh, I haven’t read that series by KJ Charles though it’s still on my TBR but I’d love to re-read The Will Darling Adventures cos I love that trilogy so much!

Mistborn would be a great re-read, and I’d love to reread both Winter’s Orbit and Ocean’s Echo. I still need to read The Jasmine Throne, it’s on my shelf.

I’m just starting my re-read of Jasmine Throne today with the aim to finish the trilogy and I hope that it lives up to the love I have for it in my head 😂

I have the same problem with series so I usually try to wait until I can binge them all together… but sometimes (read: most of the time) I can’t wait 🙂 I’d love to re-read Winter’s Orbit so I can then finally read Ocean’s Echo!

I’m totally with you there! I’ve started waiting more often these days since I’ve got so many books on my TBR it’s kind of overwhelming and the idea of betraying them by reading a new release immediately sometimes doesn’t sit right, haha! 🤣 I think re-reading Winter’s Orbit would be so much fun. I hope you enjoy Ocean’s Echo whenever you get to it !

It was a gorgeous book and I loved the whimsical vibes of it so much 😍 Also, YES! Haha, we really need to get moving on that series—but there’s no way that I can continue it without re-reading Malice first cos I’ve forgotten almost… Everything. Welp! 🫣

Yeah, I just put a hold on the audio for Malice. Let’s finish DCC and then jump into that series? Ohhh, we should also catch up with TMC.. we can alternate with Carl and TMC like we did with the Chambers series??

Yes, that’s what I’m wondering as well. I remember loving it so much the first time I read it but now barely remember any of it, so maybe it’ll just be like reading it for the first time, lol. Hopefully, it’ll be just as impactful! 🤞🏽

Ooh girl, really tempting! I might take you up on that but I just need to find the right time. But I’m definitely down to buddy read that. I think it would be a fun one to do (and I remember you loving it, right?)! Did you end up finishing the series already?

I read that book so long that I can’t even remember it anymore, but what I do remember is how quickly I gobbled it up and how hard I fell for the story. I’m kind of wondering if that would the case if I re-read it now! 🤭

I know my sister loved it! I read it on her suggestion, and kept wondering if we were reading different books, LOL.

I reread a few of the TRULY, DEVIOUS books recently because I wanted to get caught up in the series, but I couldn’t remember who was who or what was what from my first read through. My memory isn’t great either and, like you, I often have trouble remember the details of books I read recently, let alone a long time ago! I hope you enjoy your rereads.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I’m glad that I didn’t read further than the second book cos then I don’t have that many books to re-read and catch up on before I can then continue with the series! 😂 But yeah, darn memory lets me down every time, lol. I hope you enjoyed the re-read though!

I might have to pick up The City of Brass. I still haven’t read the last book in the series, whoops. I hope you get a chance to experience all these again!

I normally don’t reread, but have skimmed a book that I already read when I am going to continue the series and need to refresh my memory.

I know quite a few readers who pick certain chapters or sections of books to re-read when they’re looking for comfort or just can’t focus on other books and they do count that as re-reading too! If it hasn’t been too long since I finished the previous book, sometimes reading the last few chapters is enough to for me to continue but otherwise, it’s to the start for me! 🤭

i looove rereading, even though i don’t do it all that often. i definitely need to reread the daevabad trilogy, it’s been so long since i read it and i’ve grown a lot since then that i imagine i would have a completely different experience now! the one thing that makes me reread (other than simply loving the book, which is the reason most of the time) is probably wanting to continue the series but having forgotten what happened in the previous books HAHAH. that will probably be the case with the jasmine throne, i think i read it in 2022? and am yet to continue onto the second book oops.

It’s so funny you mention that’s why you re-read because I think that’s one of the reasons why I’m hesitant to re-read most of the time! Cos what if I don’t love the book as much anymore or what if it ends up being completely different from my memory?! 😂 It’s such a gamble, haha!
And yeah, that’s why I’m re-reading Jasmine Throne at the minute, so I can finally continue with the rest of the series and it’s about time too! 🤣 Let’s hope that the book lives up to the love I have for it in my head!
