#TopTenTuesday: Most Anticipated Books of 2025: Part II

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2025

I say this every year but I always have been (and apparently I’ll continue to be) terrible at keeping up with book releases, especially when it comes to knowing which time of the year they release, so I had to do some digging for quite a few of these titles. The one I’m the most excited for however, is Katabasis by R.F. Kuang. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this book and have already ordered the special edition of it from The Broken Binding—aah, so excited! 😍

☀️ The books are listed in order of release but the majority of them are July releases! ☀️

Tenderly, I Am Devoured by Lyndall Clipstone
Rose in Chains by Julie Soto
The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley
A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

Too Old For This by Samantha Downing
Katabasis by R. F. Kuang
Arcana Academy by Elise Kova
Silvercloak by L. K. Steven
Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree

Are any of these on your TBR as well or do they sound like books you want to read? What’s your most anticipated release in the latter half of 2025?

    • Ooh, I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed Greenhouse more than Spellshop. I’m actually just about to pick up Spellshop this week and I’m both excited and nervous as I’ve heard mixed things. I hope it’s a winner for me though!

I’m ridiculously excited for Magical Innkeeping! I hope we both love it 😍 Happy reading, Emma!

    • I’m excited for the upcoming KJ Charles book as well! It does look a step outside of my comfort zone being on the spookier side of things, but I do enjoy her books 🙂 I’m also a little sad that a lot of the new Nora Roberts books are on the paranormal spooky side of things and I’m too much of a chicken to read them, haha. They look great though. I hope you enjoy all these releases, Gill!

  2. Ooh great list, I actually have all of them on my TBR as well 😅 I hope you love Katabasis, especially with such a special edition coming your way, and didn’t realise you were into things like Too Old For This. Have you tried any of the authors other books before? I’m really curious about The Enchanted Greenhouse and hoping to finally pick up The Spell Shop later this week 🤞 and I’m really curious about Arcana Academy. I hope you enjoy all of these 🥰

    • Thanks, Charlotte! I hope you enjoy all these books as well 😍 I’m ridiculously excited about Katabasis but I’m also keen to check out these others. I don’t read a lot of mysteries/thrillers as I’d like, but I do have plenty of them on my TBR, haha! 🤣 One of which is Downing’s book My Lovely Wife and I’ve heard so many good things about it. Have you read it? Too Old For This just sounded too good too pass up having it on my radar! I can’t wait for our buddy read of Spell Shop. I really hope we both love it! 🥰

      • Thank you 🥰🥰 I hope they all live up to your expectations and that Katabasis is the hit you’re anticipating. I’ll definitely be watching out for your thoughts on it.

I’m the same tbh. I’ve really enjoyed some before so always add them to my TBR but I rarely seem to get around to picking them up 🙈 I have and I enjoyed it although my favourite is either For Your Own Good or He Started It. She writes highly compelling, yet unlikeable, characters I find. My advice concerning the one you’ve had is don’t look at the cover before reading it. Mine had a comparison on it that I found a bit spoilery which affected my experience I think. And yes Too Old For This does sound fantastic.

I really hope we both do as well 🤞 I quite enjoyed what I got read yesterday and look forward to hearing what you think so far too 🥰

    • I still haven’t read anything by Soto…. But I’m a sucker for this cover, the synopsis and the hype (it got me good)! 🫣 Maybe I should read one of her books that are already on my TBR first but I have a feeling I’ll enjoy them, haha.

    • Omg, I’m a little jelly about the Baldree ARC! I hope you love it—it looks so good! I’m planning to read The Spell Shop with Charlotte this week and I hope we both love it (we’re testing to see before we dive go out to buy the second book immediately, haha). I’m pretty sure that I added Silvercloak to my TBR after reading your review for it. I’m excited to check it out cos everyone who has mentioned it only had positive things to say. 😍 So excited for our Katabasis BR too! Let’s gooooo!

  4. I love how those pink & purple covers look together! Tenderly, I am Devoured sounds so good! & Katabasis souds great but I still have yet to read any other R. F. • I love how they look together as well and seeing them all lined up in a row makes me want to get my hands on them even more 🤣 I haven’t seen many talk about Tenderly, I am Devoured but it looks/sounds so good. Aah, I hope you love Kuang’s other books! The only one I haven’t read by her is her contemporary but idk, I love her fantasies so much, haha. Her trilogy wrecked me. 🤭 Yaay, I hope you enjoy the next Baldree book as well!

      • Ahaha yes I can’t blame you as they’re all so pretty lol. Me neither but that just makes me more excited because I love finding books that need more love and shouting about them lol 😂 Thanks, I’ve really been sleeping on Kuang for no reason other than she’s so popular, I’m scared I won’t like it but that’s sillyy. lool Fair, I don’t reach for contemporary often so I understand. Thanksss so much 🥰
