I’ve spent my Sunday in bed with Lights Out by Navessa Allen. This is a dark romance that I’ve been seeing everyone read and love recently and so I wanted to see what the hype was about. I get the appeal and I’m enjoying it a lot, but I wouldn’t say I’m blown away by it. That said, I think it’s the kind of dark romance that’ll still be palatable for many romance readers, even those who don’t normally read this sub-genre. I’m keen to read more!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

To say this week has been hard would be an understatement. It started off in the worst possible way when my buddy, Tripper, passed away on Monday morning. After 15 years of having this guy around, it’s so surreal to wake up and not have his face be the thing I first see before heading off to work. 😭 I know it’ll take a while to adjust.

Following that, waking up every day, holding in all the emotion, and going into work made the rest of the week feel endless. Maybe holing myself up while being in a super sad state isn’t the best but it’s what I needed because I felt so completely drained of energy. I’m still feeling extremely exhausted too but sadly, it’s already Sunday and it’s back to the grind tomorrow. At least it’ll be a short week because of Eid, and my sister’s coming to visit and we’ll be heading to Bali for a week in mid-June.
