Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
It’s already that time of the year again where we recap our Q1 reading with The Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag. It’s hard to believe that Q1 is already over and we’re a quarter of the way through 2025. It truly feels like 2025 has just begun but then I also remember that I’ve already taken my first trip out of the country this year and my mind is even more boggled trying to calculate the passing of time and events, lol.
But I digress! Let’s see what my Q1 reading was like, shall we? Also, if you’re curious, you can view my past quarterly check-ins: 2024, 2023, 2022.
We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.
I’m spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed with A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers. This is the second book in the Wayfarers series and I’m buddy reading it with Leslie. I’m quite behind as I have been incredibly unproductive this weekend! 🫣
It’s just past midnight here which means Friday is over and I’m getting my post up quite late. Apologies—it’s been a very long day! I hope everyone has had a good week and has an amazing weekend!

Hello, friends. It’s time for another tag Thursday and this week I’ve got The Literary Tag! I first saw this tag on Leyre @ Read You Leyre‘s page where it’s mentioned that this is a translated tag from Spanish booktok. It looked like a fun simple tag to do, so here I am doing it!
Leyre was unable to find the original creator for this tag but if you know who it is, please let me know down in the comments and I’ll credit them in the post!
What was your first read of the year?
My first read of the year was A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson. This was an interesting read, especially with my mainly negative feelings towards the MC, but I still ended up liking it a lot! Check out my full thoughts.
What are you currently reading?
I’ve got several reads on at the minute because truthfully, I’ve spent more time gaming than reading over the past week. My focus reads at the moment are Project Hail Mary and A Closed and Common Orbit, but I’m still planning to finish One by One soon(ish). I guess you can say that I’ve been in more of a sci-fi mood lately? I’m taking my time with these reads but I’m hoping to get all of them read by the end of April!
A book you’re dying to read?
Oh gosh, must I really only choose one? There are so many option to choose from!
After a five-second pause to think, the first book that came to mind is: The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett. I’ve heard so many good things about this book (and series) and I can’t wait to give it a go!
An author you have not read yet but want to
Emily Henry. I feel like I’m the last person on earth who has yet to read an Emily Henry book, but here we are! 😂 I remember my initial excitement about Beach Read when it was first about to come out on my birthday years ago. I got the book and have all of Henry’s subsequent releases and yet… I still don’t know why I haven’t picked any of them up!
A series you want to start
There are so many to choose from but I think The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin is not only at the top of the list, but it’s also one of the oldest unread series on my shelves too.
A series you want to finish
I hope 2025 will finally be the year that I finish The Burning Kingdoms Series by Tasha Suri. I buddy read the first in the series maybe four years ago now and we were going to continue the series last year, but then completely forgot our plans, lol. 😂 Jess and I are planning to do a re-read of book one this June followed by the rest of the series after. Let’s hope we don’t forget this time! 🤞🏽
And that’s it for The Literary Tag! I won’t be tagging anyone to do this but if you fancy it, feel free to link back so I can see your answers!
Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
Happy Monday, friends! I recently saw Pam @ Read Bake Create post the Firsts of 2025 Book Tag and it reminded me that this tag existed! I’ve done it for the past two years (see: 2023, 2024) and since I didn’t have anything planned for today, I thought I’d go for it! Before I get into it though, I want to say that I’m changing up the answers for the third & fourth questions because they’ll be the same as the first & second, and what fun is that?! I gotta make this a bit more exciting, lol! Now with that out of the way, let’s get to it. 😉

I’m spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed with Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave. I started this last Monday and read a huge chunk in one sitting, after which I didn’t pick it up again for the rest of the week. It’s quite an emotionally angsty read. These characters are messy but it also makes them very human for the choices, actions, etc., that they make.
