We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is: Books on My Spring 2025 to-Read
My mood has been really affected by the chaotic energy across the globe since the start of 2025 and it has impacted my reading quite a bit. My reading year has started off on a very odd and unexpected note and every time I pick up a book that I think I want to read, I end up putting it down not too long after to go for something else. Repeat that a handful of times and I’ll finally land on something but it hasn’t been easy getting reeled into books this year and I’m still trying to shake the mood. 😅 All that to say, I don’t know what books to add to my possibility pile this year but I’d be chuffed if I ended up reading any of these books!

Some of these look fun! I forgot that I’d seen Karen’s book somewhere (Goodreads probably) and the title intrigued. May be one I need to read more about. 🙂 Also, Jessica’s always look fun. Hope you enjoy these all!

I know a lot of people who love Fredrik Backman. I keep meaning to try one of his but none of the themes ever really grab me.

I highly suggest you give The Lightning Thief and a Man Called Ove a try. I hope you enjoy reading all of these in the coming months.

Percy Jackson are such quick and easy reads! I’m currently reading The Titan’s Curse (book 3) and I fly through it in a breeze. It’s a great series for the middle-grade reader, the target audience. If you want to have a lot of nerve-wrecking moments, it doesn’t deliver. At least, not for me.

I absolutely LOVE You With A View and A Man Called Ove. I was one of the (rare, it seems) people that did not get the hype with This Is How You Lose The Time War.

These look like great picks! I enjoyed Time War when I read it, though it’s been long enough that I’ve started to think about rereading it.
I know what you mean about the current events impacting your reading. For me, I’ve found that I’m reading more than normal as an escapist technique. But it’s definitely changing how (and what) I read.

Same here with picking up a book that I think I want to read and then putting it down to go for something else – I’ll even start it and get like 10-30% through before my brain goes, “nope, we need romance” and then there’s a string of romance books. I adored This is How You Lose the Time War, though admittedly I remember nothing from it; hope you enjoy it if you do pick it up!

Oh sorry to hear that, but hopefully it will get better! I see one of my favourite books here A Man Called Ove! I just love Backman’s writing and the story I really really hope you will like this one and can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it when you. Also Percy Jackson! Another favourite series just love the humour and the writing of Riordan just sucks into the story. Ove wasn’t my gateway Backman book, but it is still one of my favorites. The found family in that one was stupendous!

Is Percy Jackson a reread for you or have I actually found someone else who hasn’t read the books yet? I loved the adaptation of Ove but haven’t tried anything by the author yet. And we have a few other titles/authors in common but I think I’ve mentioned them before.
That mood thing is so relatable. I had a major slump for ages, years back, where I kept stop starting books. It’s awful when you fall into a pattern like that. I really hope a fantastic book comes along that helps you shake it off 🥰

I definitely get where you’re coming from, the world has been in disorder for so long now, and I can only hope that things improve for everyone. You should give Percy Jackson a try, it’s a fun middle-grade series that will keep you turning pages 🙂 I’ve also heard wonderful things about A Man Called Ove. That’s a great possibility list! I loved Percy Jackson when I read it a few years ago, and I also have Time War on my TBR… hopefully we can both get to it sooner rather than later 🙂

I just watched A Man Called Otto (based on A Man Called Ove) and I loved it! I haven’t read the book yet but I’m pretty sure I’ll love it if the movie is anything to judge by. I hope you love it too!
