#TopTenTuesday: Recent Additions to My Shelf

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection (or to your to-read list!)

Well, this topic doesn’t need much of an introduction. I’ve indulged in several Kindle deals recently but I also went on a bit of a Bev Jenkins histrom binge this past weekend and decided I needed to add more of her books to my shelf… So I did! 🤭 And after blog hopping today/this week, I feel there’ll be even more additions to my TBR (I am weak, please don’t hold it against me, lol)! On that note, let’s get to it…

A Chance at Love by Beverly Jenkins
Always and Forever by Beverly Jenkins
The Taming of Jessi Rose by Beverly Jenkins
Church Girl by Naima Simone
The Truth According to Ember by Danica Nava

So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole
However Many Must Die by Phil Williams
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann
The Seventh Veil of Salome by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Do we have any similar recent additions to our shelves? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR?

  1. Danica’s book has a cool cover! That’s one I’ve not heard of, but since I do love a fun contemporary, that may be one I’ll have to take another look at! 🙂 Hope you enjoy these all.

  2. I didn’t include my Kindle purchases in my list but thanks to offers I’ve had a fair few 😂 it’s hard to resist when they drop down to such incredible prices though (or free, sometimes you can get books that really surprise you for that).

This looks like a lovely mix of books. I haven’t heard of a few of them but I hope you enjoy all of the Beverly Jenkins books. The Wager isn’t my usual type of read but a recent review of it did intrigue me enough to add it to my TBR. I’ve got So Let Them Burn on my Kindle too and Elantris & Seventh Veil Of Salome are pretty near the top of my unowned TBR.  I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them 🥰

    • It’s way too easy for me to fill up my Kindle and most of my book purchases these days are e-books because I read so much digitally! Sometimes the deals are too good and ah, those free “fill up your kindle!” affairs are just too hard to resist. I actually added more free books to my Kindle this morning after getting “free ebook” emails from several romance authors I follow! 🤣 I am weak… Haha
I love Bev Jenkins so I’m keen to explore more of her backlist. I’m a sucker for these gorgeous covers 😍 I’m not much of a non-fiction girlie as well but I have read a book by Grann before and read it in one-sitting (which has never happened to me + non-fic before) so I’m excited to see if this can do the same. I hope you enjoy it (and the other books that are close to the top of your unowned TBR!) whenever or if ever you get to them! 😃

      • It’s definitely way too easy to do. And at least when they’re free it doesn’t truly matter if you read them or not having spent nothing on them. Although if they came from authors you love I doubt that will be the case 😅 I hope you enjoy catching up on it. Covers always draq me in too 😂 ooh which one was it? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it goes well 🤞 thank you 🥰 I’m definitely hoping to read Salome this year. Elantris I will definitely get to eventually but I don’t know when as I may pick up the authors Mistborn series first. Either way I need to read something by Brandon Sanderson this year as it’s ridiculous that I haven’t tried them out yet 🙈

    • To date I’ve only read one SMG book but I have… several on my TBR. The one I read was 5 stars though and I can’t wait to check out more of her books. I actually haven’t seen many bloggers talk about this one but I hope we both enjoy it whenever we get around to it (hopefully I will sooner rather than later, lol)!

  3. I loved The Truth According to Ember and hope you will too! The romance book club I’m in is planning to read that one in March, and I will be re-reading it. I have heard such good things about Beverly Jenkins’ books but haven’t had a chance to read her work yet.

    • I love to hear that! I actually haven’t seen many bloggers talk about The Truth According to Ember but it sounds like a romance I’ll enjoy and I hope I do. I can’t wait to read it! 😃 I would so highly recommend Beverly Jenkins’ historical romances, especially if you’re a fan of that sub genre and are looking for diverse stories. Her romances are incredible—I always love her characters and I learn so much about various historical periods every time I pick one up. 😍 I hope you enjoy her books if you give them a try!

  4. Ohh.. I want to read Elantris by Sanderson… hehe. I do hope you enjoy all of these. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with buying books, so I won’t judge hehe.

  5. The cover for So Let Them Burn is great! I will get to Elantris at some stage…and I think I’ve borrowed The Wager like 3-4x from my library but have never actually gotten around to reading it!

    • I though I already Elantris on my Kindle and swore I already bought it but it’s apparently just one of those titles that I see so often and just assume already exists in my TBR 🤭 I haven’t read a David Grann book since Killers of the Flower Moon back in 2017 but I love the way he wrote that non-fiction and I hope this one is just as good. The history sounds so interesting! I hope you enjoy it if you ever get around to reading it 🙂
