Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [266]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday in bed reading I Am Not Jessica Chen by Ann Liang. I’ve heard incredible things about Ann Liang’s books and can see why. I’m only at 40% but it’s so packed with emotion! Liang has captured the teenage angst well and I think it’ll be relatable to anyone who has ever put pressure on themselves to be more/better/different/or just like that other person who’s incredibly successful, smart, rich, and looks like they have the best life.

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through January, but this week passed so quickly and slowly. How does that work? I don’t know but it felt like it dragged a bit although it felt like I went to sleep on Monday night and found it was already Friday morning again! 🤣 Things are steadily picking up and oh buddy, I feel 2025 will be quite a year work-wise and I don’t know how I feel about it. In other news, I had a hair appointment yesterday and spent 5 hours at the salon… Why? How? Honestly, I’m not quite sure (haha) but I had books for company so it wasn’t painful. I asked for lavender babylights and while it doesn’t look much like it, I’m still happy with how my hair looks! I also spent today being the laziest of pandas and it was great. I’m so sad it’s already Sunday night and I have to adult tomorrow, lol.

I’m keeping this here for a while in case more people decide to migrate over to Bluesky. Find me at: dinipandareads.bsky.social! 💜

I’ve been reading, which is great, but I haven’t been reviewing, which is not so great. 😅 I’m slightly feeling the pressure (all self-imposed of course) of not writing my thoughts down immediately after reading because if I leave it for too long with my goldfish memory, I won’t remember what I want to say. I’ve been telling myself “mini-reviews” are my friend but my guilt still manages to trip me up saying it’s not enough and only a full-length review will suffice. Hopefully, I can beat that thought this year!

On a WordPress-related note: Has anyone else experienced the issue with their titles not updating or changing back to the old title when you “copy” a post (for the template)? Also, getting the Jetpack notification error every time you open a post (for the past 2 months)?

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

royals – LORDE

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

  1. I’m over here like, “Oh, sweet, I have half of January to read more books.” Earlier I was stressing I wouldn’t be able to get to everything, but so far so good. Your kitty is so cute! I didn’t know you have a dilute calico cat! I do, too…I’ve always had a soft spot for calico cats. 😻

    • omg, i’m feeling the same way too because how is it already the end of january and i’ve read so few books? 😂 i hope you’ve been able to squeeze everything in though! i’ve got a few more to go but i think i’m still hopeful about getting it all done in the next week. also, i had no idea she’s what you call a dilute calico cat. i’ve always been more of a dog person before this catto walked into my life (so she’s my first cat!) but i love her so much. she’s a cheeky little thing haha

    • It sucks that everyone has been having this WP issue but it’s nice to know that it’s not just me cos I haven’t heard anyone else mention it before, haha. 😂 It seems to have been resolved now though (at least it has been fine the last two times I copied a post)! Let’s see if it holds cos it was very annoying!

  2. I have had the Word Press issue. Ultimately, to get around that, I selected and copied all of the blocks of the original post, created a new post, and pasted them in. Always something 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • It’s reassuring to hear that other people have been having the same copy issue too but ever since I mentioned it the issue seems to have been resolved? I don’t know if I’m jinxing myself but the last two times I copied a post and saved it after changing the title, it hasn’t changed back again! I hope the issue has resolved for you too 🙂

  3. I really loved The Ten Thousand Doors of January and I’m so glad you had books for your 5 hour hair appointment, I’ve never dyed my hair so I don’t know what those long appointments feel like haha. But it looks so cute 🖤!! And time reading is never time wasted so there’s that 🙂 Also, please tell your cat I think they’re cute 🥰.

    • I’m so mad at myself for putting off reading it for so long but oh gosh, what a wonderful story! Harrow’s writing is so achingly beautiful and romantic. 🥰 It’s been years since I’ve spent so long at a salon but I’m happy with how it turned out although I’ll wait for some time before doing it again, lol. At least I was in good company with the books though! And also, my catto says thank you hehe 😻

      • Well there was no way for you to know you’d love it so much so maybe the story came to you at the perfect time ♥! I agree, from what little I’ve read of Harrow’s style, I loved it!
Ahah that’s fair, It’s not like I go to the salon very often so I understand :p
        Aww hi, Catto! hhehe
