#WWWWednesday: 15 January 2025

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I have been reading at a snail’s pace and I’m not quite sure why I blame all the gaming that has taken over my life lately (thanks, Cult of the Lamb). I’m a bit disappointed that I’ve only finished one book since last week but alas, it is what it is! 🤣

(KU) Lady Diana’s Lost Lord (The Beaumonts #2) by Aydra Richards ★★★☆☆

In all honesty, having picked this up after the first book—which was a delightfully sexy and angst-filled romp—I found the drama-free sweetness a bit boring. 🤭 That’s not to say it wasn’t enjoyable because Richards’ writing is fab and the characters still had a lot of spunk, especially Lady Diana. The author perfectly describes their dynamic as: Lord Devoted Single Father meets Lady Daddy Issues. So spot on! 🤣

I’ve got two books on at the minute. One I’ve been reading since Friday and the other I just started this morning.

The Ten Thousand Doors of January ⇢ 71%

Though my physical copy of this book has somehow gotten lost in my room (maybe it fell through a door?!) , I’m so happy to finally be reading this book with Leslie and Julie! 😍 Harrow’s writing is lush perfection and I adore January and her story. 💜✨ I may have already gotten teary-eyed over it!

I also would fully recommend the audiobook!

Midnight ⇢ 9%

It’s about time I got to this since I first said I’d pick it up 1 month ago. 🤣 Ms Bev’s historical romances are always a fabulous time so I’m looking forward to diving back in.

I’m really not sure what I feel like reading at the moment. I’ve got another buddy read coming up but other than that, I’m not sure what I’ll read!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

    • Nimona has been haunting me from my shelf and now she’s haunting me from right beside my desk. 🤣 I keep telling myself to read it so I can finally watch the adaptation (because of course I’m waiting to read it first)! It looks so good and I love that it’s short—defo perfect for in between gaming sessions, lol.

    • No worries, Leslie! I’ve just become ridiculously busy at work and my brain capacity right now is at a negative so I’m sticking to my histrom and will pick the book back up again tomorrow. By then I think you and Julie might have finished it? It’s a quick read isn’t it!? I hope you continue to enjoy it as you read on! And YES, let’s do Seven Year Slip! How about after 10K Doors as a “cleanser” if you’re keen?

  2. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the book by Harrow. It’s one that’s been on my radar for a while, but I’ve just never picked it up. I still need to read The Betrayal of Thomas True, too. If you want to buddy read it, let me know!

    • This Harrow book has been on my shelf for *years* (so long that I’ve even lost my physical copy in my room…somehow? 🤣) and I’m so glad to finally be reading it. I think you’d enjoy it! Also, I’d be keen to buddy read Thomas True! Just saw it the other day on Bluesky and immediately grabbed it on sale, haha. Let’s do it!

    • I’m so keen to check it out because I adored The Dead Romantics by Poston so I hope this one gets me in the feels the same way! 🤣 Yes, I’ve been avoiding the adaptation because I wanted to read the graphic novel first. I’m pushing myself to read it soon so that I can finally watch it on Netflix. It looks so good. I hope you’re having a great reading week so far, Anna!

      • I feel like The Dead Romantics does not get as much love just because people normally read The Seven Year Slip first, which they love, so then they compare it to that, but I liked both.
I might read it next month, if you want to join!
