#WWWWednesday: 4 December 2024

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I’ve finished one book since last Wednesday!

Poison in their Hearts (Castles in their Bones #3) by Laura Sebastian ★★★½ ? (I’m undecided)

Leslie, Julie and I finished our buddy read of this yesterday. We really enjoyed this—it was a very intense read but the ending felt rushed and certain elements at the end felt like they came out of nowhere, lol. Still, I found it satisfying overall and I’m so glad I can tick another series off my TBR!

I’ve still got a million books on at the minute but I’ve decided to focus on the two that I’m really reading since I haven’t made any progress on the others. Right now I’m focusing on these two reads:

A Taste of Gold and Iron (Mahisti Dynasty #1) by Alexandra Rowland ⇉ 47%

I picked this up on a whim a couple of days ago and it took a little bit for me to get into it cos I found the world-building overwhelming and confusing. But now that I’m in it, I love it! These characters!! 🥹 They must be protected at all costs!!!

(ARC) A Cruel Thirst by Angela Montoya ⇉ 29%

This is so different from what I expected… There’s a lot more humour in the writing, it’s a bit goofy and gives slight telenovela vibes. Honestly? I’m having a great time with it! 🤣 I have some questions about certain bits of logic but I’m laughing out loud and fully here for the vibes 💯. I love our MCs so much!

Becky and I have a buddy read coming up for Howl’s but otherwise, it’ll be as my mood fancies (as usual)!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

  1. I think it’s so amazing that we finished a whole series this past month! Well you did the whole thing, I did two, and Julie did one. REGARDLESS, we finished a series!! I wish the ending was better, but it was still enjoyable!! Have a great week, Dini! ❤

    • I remember saying you shed some tears and I’m ngl, I did too at the end with the stars but I think overall, it just felt soo rushed! It was a satisfying ending overall though so I’m not mad about it 🙂 I can see why Gold & Iron might not be for you. There are still moments while I’m reading when I zone out with the world-building cos it feels so vast and I feel like the way it’s explained I should already know about certain things but that’s certainly not the case! I like the characters though—Evemer especially is befuddling but wholesome at the same time. 😂 It’s a very interesting combo overall, lol.
