#WWWWednesday: 27 November 2024

Excuse me, it’s the last Wednesday of November!?

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve finished three books.

Stardust in their Veins (Castles in their Bones #2) by Laura Sebastian ★★★★☆
After book one’s ending, I wasn’t sure what direction this story would go but I enjoyed it a lot! It took a minute to get where it was going but I enjoyed the chees pieces being moved into place and there were still some shocking reveals and twists that kept me eagerly reading on. I can’t wait to finish this series soon!

Haven (Beards & Bondage #1) by Rebekah Weatherspoon ★★★☆☆
This is not my typical read but my interest was piqued by the synopsis. This wasn’t the romantic suspense I expected it to be but it was an angsty, deeply emotional, and heavy romance featuring two very complex, scared and hurt people. I appreciated how their trauma was explored but I wanted more depth from their connection!

Queen of Dust by H.E. Dare ★★★★½
This got on my radar because of Fated Mates last year and I’m so glad that I gave it a chance. This was a fun, incredibly sexy, sci-fi romance that explored some fairly heavy topics (genocide, colonization, exploitation) but also had great character exploration and relationship development! I loved it.

Okay, all of these books are ones that I’m planning to get back to sometime but my mood to keep reading them may have passed. Right now, I’m undecided between books waiting for my next buddy read to start with Leslie & Julie!

Poison in their Hearts is the upcoming buddy read with Julie & Leslie otherwise it’s whatever the mood brings (though I should probably finish one of the books I’ve been “currently reading” for ages, lol)!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re currently reading, friends!

  1. Queen of Dust honestly sounds so intriguing! I’m kind of in a similar situation as you kind of stuck on my ‘currently reading’ books for a while. The Castles in Their Bones series looks fun and I didn’t realize there were three books in the series already!

    • It was *very* sexy/sexual but it had a lot more depth and story to it as well. I was very pleasantly surprised! Castles in their Bones is pretty amazing—different to what I expected but in the best way. A lot darker for YA and princesses and they are incredible. It’s a trilogy so I’m excited to see how the story ends 🙂

      • I don’t mind that as long as I’m aware of it going in so I can be in the right frame of mind but It does sound good!
That is so cool, I remember hearing when it first came out and I wanted to read it but that’s why I’m surprised there’s so many since in my head it still felt new 😅 I hope you love the ending of the series!
