#WWWWednesday: 30 October 2024

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I finished five books since last week and I didn’t even realise it until just now! 😂 To be fair, three of those books were novellas that took me one sitting to read.

Leviathan Fitness #1-3 by Ashley Bennett ★★★★☆ (for the series so far)
Admittedly, this monster romance series did not start out well for me. The first book was entertaining but instalove smut and that’s fine but I expected more. Thankfully, the following books were much better and it was nice to see how the author grew in her writing. Mantras and Minotaurs was my fave of the bunch and I can’t wait for more in this series! 😍

The Crimson Moth (The Crimson Moth #1) by Kristen Ciccarelli ★★★★½
I loved this and need book two now, please! I’m usually more nitpicky with my romance fantasy but I was immediately pulled in and the enemies-to-lovers romance had just the right touch of angst and mutual pining. 😍 Check out my review.

Anatomy: A Love Story (The Anatomy Duology #1) by Dana Schwartz
This was my buddy read with Leslie and we were both disappointed by this. This is a well-loved book and I’m bummed that my opinion is pretty unpopular

As I mentioned in my Sunday post, I’ve got a couple of books on at the minute. My mood can’t seem to decide which to stick with so I’m continuing to read bits of all of them at different times of the day, lol.

It’s whatever the mood brings!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re currently reading, friends!

    • I’m so bummed I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would too. I had high hopes knowing it’s so well-loved. The main thing was the lack of connection to the characters and despite the interesting topic, I found the story lacked depth. I was also not at all sold on the romance and the ending was just the cherry on top of things I didn’t like/just felt so out of left field! 😅

  1. I am so bummed about Anatomy! I’ll probably still read the second one since I have it. I just expected to love this so much more than I did. 😦 I can’t wait to see what you think of Starling House! It’s one I need to get to! Crimson Moth is one I’ll have to add to my TBR now!

    • I know… I’m so bummed we didn’t love it. I’m rating it much lower than others so it seems to be the minority opinion 😂 If you do read the next book I’d be keen to know if you think it’s worth reading it or not. If you think it’s better, I might reconsider not reading it, haha! I don’t know why I thought you’d already read Crimson Moth (also known as Heartless Hunter I think?) but I think you’ll enjoy it! It was so good 😍

      • I think I will read it since I was gifted the second book. Luckily, they are quick reads. I’ll at least try and see if I want to DNF it.. haha. I’ll let you know how that goes though! Nope, I haven’t read it yet!! I have heard such great things about it though. 🙂

    • I was confused initially too because I thought it was called Heartless Hunter but I wonder if that’s what it’s called in the US and then everywhere else it’s Crimson Moth? I don’t know, it’s weird, haha. Both titles fit but Crimson Moth is obviously more on the nose 😂 I can’t wait for book two as well!
