#TopTenTuesday: 10 Favourite Books from 10 Series

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is actually Ten Favorite Books from Ten Series (We all have a favorite book in our favorite series, right?) (submitted by A Hot Cup of Pleasure)

I realised when making this post that I actually haven’t read that many series. Well, I’ve started many but have finished only a few. I wanted to limit my options to those I’ve finished so that I can really say these were my favourites of their series because I’ve read all the books. Since I read from a range of genres, there’s a decent mix of fantasy, crime/thriller, sci-fi and of course, romance! I’d love to know if you’ve read any of these series and if so, which ones in the series were your favourite! 😍

Book 2: The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War Trilogy)
Book 2: The Bone Tree (Natchez Burning Trilogy)
Book 2: Jade War (The Green Bone Saga)

Book 1: Vicious (Villains Series)

Book 3: A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic Trilogy)

Book 1: Six Crimson Cranes (Six Crimson Cranes Duology)
Book 3: Witches Get Stitches (Stay a Spell Series)
Book 3: Act Your Age, Eve Brown (The Brown Sisters Trilogy)

Book 5: Everything for You (Bergman Brothers Series)

Book 2: The Worst Guy (Vital Signs Series)

Do you enjoy reading series or do you mostly read standalone books? What are some of your favourite series/books in a series?

  1. I haven’t read anything by any of these authors or these series. But I seem to remember reading about some of Elizabeth Lim’s books at one time. It’s always fun to revisit what books we enjoyed most from favorite series. 🙂

  2. I’m glad you had this same problem. So many folks seemed to have a much easier time with this prompt.

I’ve heard good things about Six Crimson Cranes but haven’t read it myself yet.

    Thanks for stopping by earlier.

    • Yes! I noticed the same for me as well with Lim’s duologies. The first books are always stellar and get me so excited about the stories but the second books never quite match the first book’s energy (unfortunately)! Glad it’s not just me that thinks so, lol 😂

    • Something I’ve noticed with Lim’s books is that the first book in her duologies will always be amazing but the sequels have always let me down 😂 SCC is amazing and I’m still bummed by how let down I felt reading the second book, lol.

    • The more I thought about it, the more I realised how much I loved Witches Get Stitches compared to the others. But the series overall is super fun 😍 A Conjuring of Light for me was just the most amazing series ender. I loved how Schwab wrapped everything up but also what she gave us with Holland’s arc 🥹

  3. It is interesting to think of your favourite book from a series as I often just group them all together with a big heart, however the dragon republic is my favourite of TPW trilogy! I’d love to read it again for the first time!

It is rare I see Jade War talked about as the best of the series, so I am happy to see it get some extra love!

    • I mean, I do have an overall huge love for all the books in these series because they’re all time faves but some of them just hit more and stuck out more to me 😂 Especially Dragon Republic (still kills me thinking about it, lol) and Jade War! Jade City was obviously amaze-balls but dang, Jade War cemented this series’ status as number one favourite of all time. I love this series so much just talking about it makes me think it might be time for a re-read soon, lol 🥹

  4. The Dragon Republic was such a good book! I didn’t add the series to my list because I couldn’t pick between the three haha.

    • I was low-key a bit bummed with the last book because it had so much potential but I found it fell flat in comparison to the first two. But with how things went with Dragon Republic… Especially that ending (WHICH STILL KILLS ME WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT!!!), this second book can’t be beat for me 😂 Haha

  5. Aw I’m glad Act Your Age, Eve Brown is your favourite from that series because I liked the first book but I don’t want to read the second (I don’t like the fake dating trope) but I am interested in seeing Eve’s shenanigans! lol

    • It was a toss up between book two and three for me. I loved those two the most but Eve Brown was the one I read most recently and it’s still so fresh in my mind. Dani and Zaf were AMAZING though and their romance had me swooning for ages before I picked Eve’s story up 😂 Overall such a great series but I’m a huge fan of Hibbert’s books in general, lol. I hope you enjoy Eve Brown if you do pick it up 🙂

      • That’s fair, the one that’s fresh in your mind wins sometimes 🙂 Aww glad you liked the romance in 2. I really like the family interactions between the sisters so that maybe is an argument for reading them all, if the sisters show up in eachother’s stories more. 🙂

  6. Yes, yes & yes to so many of these, Dini! A conjuring of Light is also my favourite book in the Schwab trilogy, although I’m not sure I could pick a favourite out of The Green Bone saga because they’re all amazing 😂
