We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I Was Super Excited to Get My Hands on but Still Haven’t Read!
I don’t know about you but as an avid book buyer and reader, this is a topic that regularly buzzes through my mind. Sometimes I do it to guilt myself into prioritising these books but I ultimately don’t end up reading them for… Years. In some cases, many, many years. That said, most of the ones I’ve mentioned below, save for one, are more recent titles but I pre-ordered most of these and yet… They still remain unread! 😂

I didn’t read Beach Read first because I think I saw some reviews that put me off when it was just out…but then I picked up one of her others and loved it. Then went back through her books and loved Beach Read even more. So read it!

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi is still on my TBR too! Hopefully I’ll cross it off before the end of 2024…?! 🤷🏻♀️😂 I adore Emily Henry’s books! I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!

Beach Read is SO good!! I also loved Georgie, All Along. I need to read Seven Year Slip if we want to BR that to break up some of the fantasies on our list!! haha

I also haven’t read Truly Madly Deeply yet, though I have a copy waiting for me. I did read and love Seven Year Slip and Beach Read (I’m an Emily Henry fangirl for sure 🙂 ) Hope you’ll love all of these!

Beach Read was such a fun read back then! Amina is good as well.
I’m still doubting about The Seven Year Slip, I’m not sure whether it’s something for me or not. It sounds like magical realism and I’m on the fence about that trope.

Oooh you should definitely pick up Amani Al-Sirafi. I think you would love it, Dini. I don’t own The Seven Year Slip, but it’s one I’ve had my eye on for a while.

I have a few preorders I haven’t read yet either but at least I can make myself feel better by remembering the reason I preordered was to help the author…in case that makes you feel better also 😉Whether we read them next year or in 10 years at least we supported the author and that’s something

I definitely have a few of these on my physical TBR collection…I also still need to read BEACH READ, although my first book I read of hers was HAPPY PLACE last year. I really enjoyed it!

A few are not that old, but Beach Read? Tanner and Louise? There are some over a year old. This is why I don’t buy many books. Then I don’t have to feel bad about ignoring them. There are some goodies up there, so I do hope you find the time to read them at some point.

I do the same thing! I have books on my list this week that I preordered years ago and haven’t read yet. I haven’t read any of the books on your list, but I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!

I really loved both You With A View and The Seven Year Slip. I was so excited about A Love Song For Ricki Wilde and….it did not live up to her previous book, for me personally. I also really love Beach Read.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that about Ricki Wilde! Honestly, hard to top her previous book and I loved that a whole lot. So I guess I’m going to into Wilde with… limited expectations 🙂

I wish I hadn’t bothered with Georgie, honestly. But I did enjoy Beach Read and it’s perfect for summer…so…I’d recommend you read it in the next couple of months.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear you feel that way about Georgie! I’ve only read one book by Clayborn and I loved it so I’m hoping I’ll feel the same about this. 🙂 I have been planning to read Beach Read on the beach for the past few years and just never got around to it. I’m definitely going to try for it this year! 😂

It’s probably just me! Sometimes I have high expectations for a book, and the book is doomed to disappoint me because of that.

Oh yes, those cheeky expectations! That’s why I always get intimidated by very hyped and popular releases because it sends my expectations skyrocketing which ultimately makes it so easy to be disappointed. Very relatable!

You need to let us know when you read The Friendship Study bc I love that cover! Looking it up right now. ❤ Also putting off Beach Read (I just haven’t been in the EH mood recently) and The Seven Year Slip (bc I have trouble with time travel reads). D:

I love the cover for The Friendship Study too and that’s admittedly what caught my eye about it in the first place. 🤭 I hope it doesn’t languish on my TBR too long. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one left who hasn’t read EH—obvi, I know that’s untrue but everyone has read and loved her books and the expectations I have are now *very* high. It would suck if I ended up being super disappointed when I finally read her books; especially since I already have all save the most recent release on my shelves, haha!

That’s one I pre-ordered because I saw romance readers rave about it for months before release, so I was very excited for it to land on my digital shelf! Unfortunately, it’s still sat unread but hopefully, it won’t be unread for too long (famous last words, lol)! 😂

Georgie All Along and The Seven Year Slip are also on my TBR, I’ll get to them one day! I’ve heard really great things about the Chakraborty book, I hope you enjoy it when you read it!

I also have so many books I was super hyped for … but then I never read them 🙈 I still have the entire Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy as a box set and haven’t read the books yet 😅
