Monthly Wrap-Up: February 2024

It’s mid-March and I thought I would be a lot more proactive even while I was off on holiday but that definitely didn’t happen so I’m just now getting around to posting my February wrap-up…

There wasn’t a whole lot that happened in February and the biggest thing I had to look forward to, which was a big deal, was my holiday to Japan at the end of the month. It was great! I ate lots of amazing food although, towards the end of my trip, I did get a bit of an upset stomach and left the country feeling rather poorly (I blame all the poor food we binged at Disney, lol).

Other than that, I spent a whole lot of money on Studio Ghibli, Disney and Nintendo (Zelda and ACNH) stuff and although my bank account is looking fairly pathetic right now, I don’t regret it and would probably do it all again, haha. 😂 Friends, I got so many cute things! I was in heaven and it was impossible to resist, though to be fair, I didn’t try very hard! And I mean, this is why I work my tail off, right? Because I like expensive things, I have a hard time telling myself no, and I love to treat my loved ones to all the good things, too. Overall, I wish my trip could’ve lasted longer but I will be back within the next year so I’m saving up good for that!

My reading was a bit sluggish this month and I struggled to get into a couple of books. I had one DNF and one that I wish I had DNF because I didn’t enjoy it at all! Other than that, I managed to read a total of 20 books. Though it was the same as January, it somehow also felt like a much slower reading month… Unsurprisingly, for the month of love, I read a lot of romances! 😉

I had an unprecedented SEVEN 5★ reads this months and I actually can’t remember the last time that happened! I’m shook, lol. If I had to pick a favourite it would be between Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert and Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson. Both are romances in very different ways but both hit!

I read fewer backlist books (including ARCs) this month but I’ve still maintained some progress. I’ve happily kept up with the Buzzwordathon and Year in Aeldia reading challenges as well. Yay! 😊

Project Backlist Reading Challenge: 📚 9 backlist books // 📱 2 backlist ARCs
2024 Buzzwordathon: February (positive words): The Summer Playbook
2024 Year in Aeldia: February (book w/ non-human characters): Delicates

That’s a wrap for February 2024! Better late than never, right? How was your February? I can’t wait to catch up on all the posts I’ve missed, especially your wrap-up posts cos I love reading those! I hope everyone’s doing well and is taking good care! 💜

  1. Ah, that’s so exciting that you got to visit Japan. Going there is on my bucket list. 20 books read in a month is amazing and so many of them sound very interesting.

  3. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to Japan! I have a big trip coming up in May, and I am so freaked out about it. Why? Because I’m not prepared for it, but I am so ready for it to be here.

  6. Seven 5-star books and a trip to Japan – sounds like an amazing month to me! I was surprised (kind of) by how much I enjoyed those meet-cute books. I guess I should have faith in authors who I enjoy even if it’s a short story.
