💌 HAPPY LOVE DAY, BOOK LOVERS! 💌

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Compared to last week, this week of reading has been much slower and if I can be honest, it felt a bit like a slog! Since last week, I finished 3 books and DNF one. Despite slowing down after Open Water, it was a pretty amazing reading week!

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries (Emily Wilde #1) by Heather Fawcett ★★★★★
This was my first re-read of the year and I loved it more the second time around. I’m also glad I buddy read this with Ali, Leslie and Julie cos it made it more fun! 😊 I can’t wait to continue the cosy fantasy journey in book two.

Act Your Age, Eve Brown (Brown Sisters #3) by Talia Hibbert ★★★★★
Why did I wait so long to read this? I adored Eve and Jacob! Also, J A C O B, good sir, you are a total surprise and an absolute delight! 😍 Their banter-filled romance had me cackling and kicking my feet. Love love love!

Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson ★★★★★
An achingly tender romance and a heartbreakingly honest and eye-opening portrayal of what it means to occupy a Black body in a society that refuses to see you. This was absolutely stunning in every sense and made me deeply emotional!

Homegoing ⇢ 28%

I was confused at first but that changed fast and I got the feeling that this was going to be another massively impactful read. I had to take a break though cos I knew it would break me and I just couldn’t after the heavy emotions of my previous read. I want to devote a full uninterrupted day to read this but don’t know if I’ll get it, so I’ll pick it up again soon!

The Time of Your Life ⇢ 13%

This is a backlist ARC for me… I didn’t know Sandra Kitt was a relatively known name in romance but I admit to requesting this because of the cover! 🫣 It’s a bit slow but it’s OK so far. Keen to see where it goes!

I need to read my ARC of Kindling cos the pub date is coming up at the end of Feb but otherwise, I’ll see where my mood takes me!

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

  1. I hope you enjoy your current reads! I have The Time of Your Life on my tbr but haven’t picked it up and probably won’t for a bit lol. So many other books to read at the moment!

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day! That Sandra Kit book’s cover confused me for a bit. I thought it was a memoir when I first looked at it and wondered why it was illustrated. Then I saw the title. lol. I’m tired, I guess.

  4. Homegoing is one of those books I’ve heard good things about, mainly from my monthly book club. It’s not in a genre I typically read, but I found a used copy to read when I’m in the mood. Whenever you’re in the mood to finish it, I hope you end up liking it. 🙂
