#WWWWednesday: 31 January 2024

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I’ve managed to finish four books.

Ruthless Vows (Letters of Enchantment #2) by Rebecca Ross ★★★★☆
This was an agonizing but hopeful conclusion to the Letters of Enchantment duology. I read this with Leslie and we agreed that it might not have been as good as the first book but it was still a satisfying conclusion. You betcha we were crying our heart out by the end, lol!

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour ★★★★☆
Sad book January continues and this one kinda broke me. I was a hot mess by the end of this very short read about grief, loneliness, and healing and it was just so full of emotion. Check out my review!

(ARC) Down Comes the Night by Allison Saft ★★★½
This is a backlist ARC I’m glad I finally got around to. This was my first book by Saft and I enjoyed her writing and the atmosphere she set in this book. It’s dark, creepy, chilling and gothic. That said, I wasn’t terribly wowed by it and felt disconnected from the characters + romance. But mine is definitely a minority opinion!

The Singles Table (Marriage Game #3) by Sara Desai ★★★★½
Oh, I ended up adoring this so much. Their meet-cute was when she shot his ass with a paintball gun cos he was being an insufferable prick and then he ended up falling first. 😍 Their banter, chemistry, and vulnerable moments were all very sweet. And Jay was so swoony! I loved it!

Opium & Absinthe ⇢ 59%

This is another backlist ARC that I’m finally getting to. It’s a historical medical mystery that had a bit of a slow start with an insufferably naive protagonist but it’s gotten better and I admit Tillie’s character is well written! Let’s hope it ends on a high note. I still can’t tell whodunit but everyone is suss! 👀

I was blessed to get digital ARCs from two of my favourite romance authors so I’m excited to jump into those this weekend! Other than that, it’s more backlist ARCs and wherever else my mood takes me!

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

  1. The Singles Table sounds so cute and fun! I’ll keep an eye out for it! I totally forgot to put Emily Wilde as an upcoming book with our buddy read on Monday! haha. I hope you enjoy your current read and have a wonderful week! 🙂

    • They were delightful opposites but I loved the way they found each other and came together. 😍 I just finished Snowe’s book yesterday and it was a lot of fun. The perfect popcorn read full of that wonderfully carefree summer loving feeling!
