2024 Buzzword Reading Challenge

So you know how I said that I don’t do reading challenges? Well, apparently 2024 is the year where I’m trying to shake up my reading life a little and I’ve decided to partake in a couple of them! I came across the Buzzword Reading Challenge when Kayla @BooksandLala popped up on my FYP on YouTube and it looks like it could be a fun time! You can watch her video introducing it below:

Here are the two cute reading challenge templates that Kayla made for this challenge but I’m not quite sure which one I want to use yet so I’ve saved both!

Now let’s get down to business and highlight a couple of books that I’m thinking of reading for each month’s prompt.

JANUARY
There / Their / They’re

I was surprised by how difficult it was to find these words on titles in my digital and physical lists of books that number well into the high hundreds! I ended up with only these three options (ok, there was one more option but I’m saving that book for later in the year so it was out for this). I need to get cracking on whatever I pick but if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them! 😍

FEBRUARY
Positive Words

MARCH
Character Names

APRIL
Nature Words

MAY
“Every”

JUNE
Repeating Words

It wasn’t easy to find books for this one and I’m not sure that I’m really feeling any of these titles so I’d recommendations if you have any! 😃

JULY
Measurement

AUGUST
“Like”

SEPTEMBER
Senses

OCTOBER
Relationships

NOVEMBER
“Only”

DECEMBER
Holiday Words

And that’s it for my Buzzword Reading Challenge announcement and reading possibilities! I don’t know what I’ll get to but I tried to prioritise my physical reads. Are you also joining the challenge or does it sound like something you want to try, too? If you have recs for any of the prompts, I’d love to consider them! 😍

    • Y’know, I think that’s a grand idea! 😂 I think if I end up struggling with a particular month, I’m going to do pick a book I read from an earlier month or from a future month and mark it off anyway. Definitely takes the pressure off! Are you participating in it this year too? If you are, good luck to you as well, Misty! 😍

  4. I like this challenge! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I also don’t usually do challenges but did a couple last year and really enjoyed them. This one sounds like a winner for me to add to my challenges this year. I also really like your book choices for each month.

  5. wow this looks amazing. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this challenge because I don’t know if I’ll find enough SFF books with the words, but I would love to give a try for atleast a few months 😊😊

  6. I love holiday books, but it’s often to hard to see through all the Christmas books to other holidays. I had never heard of A Holly Jolly Diwali but know I want to read that one. My neighborhood has a very big Bengali population and I love seeing their clothing and lights when Diwali is celebrated.

  7. I did Kayla’s challenge last year and enjoyed it. I took the list of prompts when she posted her video and hit my bookshelf. Surprisingly, I only have four of the twelve prompts covered. I hope you enjoy the challenge!
