Monthly Wrap-Up: December 2023 ft. the last Sunday Wrap-Up [216]

Since this year, the last Sunday falls on the last day of the year, I thought I’d combine my usual Sundays in Bed With… My Weekly Wrap-Up post with my monthly wrap-up. Can you believe it’s already the end of 2023?

I honestly don’t know where this month went. It passed by in a blink of long days, endless nights, extremely emotional moments, but thankfully, also some fun reads and down time. The quieter office of the past two weeks were also much-needed and I’m low-key dreading going back to “business as usual” come January, lol. 😂 But we’ll be fine.

I hope everyone is doing okay and taking care of themselves during this time of the year. It’ll be a new year on this side of the world before it will be for most of you reading this (probably) so here’s a message incoming from the future:

Happy New Year! 🥳 I hope 2024 will be a year filled with joy, success, stability and peace. Sending all the hugs and much love your way! 💜

I was kind of productive this past weekend and I wrote my first discussion post in a long time! It’s a reflection of my 2023 reading and blogging and it’ll be going up on January 1! It’s been… quite the year. December was also quite the month! At least, the first half was, lol.

In the last month of the year, I read 17 books. On the whole, I think it was a pretty standard month of reading with a very mixed bag of ratings. It was another month without a 5-star read but I did get very close several times and I ended up enjoying most of my reads anyway!

My last book of 2023 left me feeling happy/sad at the same time (cue: Kasey 🎶). My eyes were puffy from the tears shed and my heart was full of satisfaction from the read. Not a bad way to end the year of reading, if I do say so myself! 😉

And that’s a wrap on 2023?! 😂 Didn’t think I’d be writing those words so soon… This year has passed by in a blink but has lasted a lifetime. How was your December? Discover any new favourite reads? I hope 2024 is something to look forward to for all of us! Take care, friends. Don’t forget to be kind to each other and yourself! 💜

  1. Hope it’s good over there in the future, because I’m still currently in 2023! I’m glad it feels at this point like it went by quickly for you because I feel like I recall a few posts where you were not having a great time in 2023. I’m glad those have been easily relegated to the back of the mind and hope you have a lovely year in 2024, both in reading and in general. 🙂

    • Hehe, it was actually a very quiet NYE! Usually fireworks go off for several hours before and after the year turns but we barely heard a thing last night! 2023 was definitely… A TIME. 👀 But I’m hopeful that 2024 will be much better. I hope you have an amazing 2024, Jennifer (and I hope you’re feeling better now?)! 💜

      • Well I guess that’s a good thing that it was a bit calmer?? Thanks for asking, I’d say I’m at like… 80% healthy right now haha. Definitely getting there but I certainly wasn’t doing much last night for NYE! Here’s to 2024 🥂🍻🧀
