We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Bookish Jobs I Would Do For Free (Real or Imaginary) (Submitted by Susan @ Bloggin’ bout Books)
I don’t know why but I don’t feel like I really understand this week’s prompt fully so I decided to omit the “for free” part and just look at some bookish jobs that (I think) I’d love to do! I don’t know if it’s really different, I don’t know why my brain is making it so difficult for me but here we are, lol! I started by taking a look at books I read this year and continued on from there.

✨ Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews ✨
I’d love to be a magical innkeeper of a sentient inn!
✨ The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna ✨
Okay, if I were a witch like Mika I’d love to teach precocious youngins how to harness their magic! But I’d also love to be Jamie and manage a library.
✨ Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings ✨
Would I love to work at a bakery that makes sexy cakes? YES! 😂
✨ Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee ✨
Not gonna lie, I’d probably die in 5 minutes in this world but I’d love to be a rukher!
✨ A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske ✨
I think it’d be fun being the liaison between the magical and non-magical world!

✨ Saint by Adrienne Young ✨
I’d probably die very quickly here but being a dredger sounds equally amazing and terrifying!
✨ Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett ✨
This is another job that would probably lead to my early demise BUT it sounds amazing. Studying faerie folklore in the wild? Yes please, especially if it comes with my own Bambleby! 😉
✨ Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin ✨
As a gamer, it would be amazing to be able to make games and be wildly successful with it!
✨ Witches Get Stitches by Juliette Cross ✨
I love tattoos so being a witch who can give magical tattoos to supernaturals would be amazing!
✨ The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo ✨
It would be so amazing to have a historical story-collector/storyteller role like Cleric Chih.

Do any of these jobs/roles sound interesting to you and would any of these be something you’d want to do? What jobs (real or not) would you want to do?

I struggled to get my head around this week’s prompt too, but you ended up with some great and creative sounding jobs!

Great choices! I’d also love to be a rukher, the magical liaison, or a researcher studying faeries. Like you, I probably wouldn’t survive very long at any of them, though. Lol.

I wish I would have thought of the making sexy cakes. That would be a lot of fun!

Ah.. So many cool options! 😍 Sadly the reality of fantasy books does promise early demise, but you’d hope the moments before would be grand! The magical tattoos to supernaturals is amazing!
The bakery job sounds awesome too! 😂

Loved your responses! I was going to do today’s prompt but it didn’t make a lot of sense to me either. Yours were so creative, Dini!!

Oh these are some great choices! I’d love both job options from The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, so maybe both at the same time would be an option too haha! Also, yes to giving magical tattoos, that would be so fun!

Great take on this week’s prompt. These are all amazing jobs, but I’m with you, Dini, I would probably die in some of those worlds. I think the magical tattoo job is the one that piques my interest the most.

Teaching young witches sounds dangerous though too O.O Like one spell gone wrong and you’re missing eyebrows or turned into a newt or something xD

All these are amazing but like you, I wouldn’t survive in some of these jobs lol. I’d love to be a magical innkeeper though!

*Sigh* I should have worded this prompt differently. I meant it to be a “bookish dream jobs” kind of thing. It’s been fun to see everyone’s different interpretations of it, though!
I can’t count the number of times I’ve read a book and thought, “I wouldn’t last longer than a day in this world!” LOL
Happy TTT!
