Monthly Wrap-Up: August 2023

🎶August slipped away into a moment in time…🎶

August felt like it got over in the blink of an eye! Work started to pick up again this month but I also took a long weekend break to get away to Bali to visit my aunt and cousin and to hang out with the whole family. My sister also sent me some things from Japan through a friend of hers and that little package made my day a few weeks back! Overall, it was a pretty decent month 🙂

I read 16 books in August and overall, it was a better reading month for me. I had two 5-star reads though both were re-reads but I did read several books that were close to 5 stars. Not counting my re-reads, my favourite this month was Shucked by Kate Canterbary!

I haven’t updated my own notes with the progress I’ve made on my reading challenges but safe to say, I’ve kind of abandoned almost everything at this point. Obviously, my Goodreads Reading Challenge is slowly progressing and although I still haven’t fully updated it on my actual Goodreads page, my spreadsheet shows I’ve read 106 books thus far. I’m sorely behind on my 150-book goal for 2023 but I’m hoping to continue catching up!

I also participated in the Magical Readathon Autumn Equinox semester and thankfully, I’ve passed that. A wrap-up post specifically for that challenge is coming soon!

And that’s it for August, friends. Can you believe we’re down to the last four months of 2023 now?! How was your month of reading and life in August? What was your favourite book? Did anything exciting happen?

  2. Looks like you read some fun and really good books. I applaud you for reading so many. Even when I was full on reading, I never read more than 3-4 in a month. Guess that’s just how I read. 😉

I have yet to read the sequel to Amari and the Night Brothers! It was a great MG story. I am glad you enjoyed the sequel, even if not as much as the first one!
