We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is actually: Characters from Different Books Who Should Team Up (or date, be friends with, etc.) (Submitted by Cathy @ WhatCathyReadNext) BUT as you can tell by the title of this post, I’m going rogue!
This week’s topic is a little tough and although I managed to come up with an (admittedly weak) list I still decided to go rogue after checking out the prompts from the previous two months that I missed. That’s where I saw the prompt “book covers in the colours of my country’s flag” and I thought it was perfect timing because Indonesia’s independence day falls on Thursday this week (August 17)! So, this is what I’m doing and it’s a lot easier for my brain to handle, lol. As with most weeks, I’ll be featuring books that are still on my TBR… Now, let’s get to the red and white!

Hooked
Two Wrongs Make a Right
Concrete Rose
The Dark Queens
Breath of Fire

Ayiti
The Shadow of the Gods
The Game Plan
Warbreaker
Traitor’s Blade

I’m honestly kind of surprised that I couldn’t find more white books on my physical/digital shelf! Have you read any of these books? Do you have a lot of red and/or white books on your shelves?

Happy (almost) Independence Day! (Is that the name of it in Indonesia? Or is there a different name I should be using?)
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

Yep, in Indonesian it’s “Hari Merdeka” and translated it literally means “Independence Day”! 😃 Thanks, Lydia!

White book covers can be really hard to find. I don’t have many on my shelves, either. Happy Independence Day!

I was surprised I didn’t have more white covers cos I thought I did 😂 Glad to know I’m not the only one with few white covers on my shelves, lol.

I also have trouble finding covers that are majority black, though! I guess I’m just drawn to colorful book covers. 😉

This week’s topic was a tough one. I went rogue as well. It’s been a while since I read The Game Plan, but I loved that series.

I saw another comment saying a lot of people went rogue. I thought it was a cool topic but just too much for my brain at the minute. 😂 I still haven’t read that book (or series) but I’ve heard good things about it!

There’s something about the red and white covers and the combination of them that I love. You chose some vivid covers.

It seems lots of people went rogue this week. I feel a little bad but it was really tough! Great combination of covers there. Breath of Fire is a great video game series so seeing a book series called that has me intrigued. 😅 Have a great week! 💚

I think if I was better prepared I would’ve done the week’s prompt but my brain saw the prompt and was like “yeah, nah”—unfortunately, lol. I did like the week’s topic though so I think I’ll definitely come back to it at some point. Maybe 🤭 Ooh, I didn’t know there was a game called Breath of Fire! What console? I hope you’ve had a great week!

Fun prompt! I didn’t do this one either as I was out of town that Tuesday. I might have to go back and do it.
Happy independence day, Indonesia!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Lovely collection! White books are pretty rare which might not be a bad thing. I am always nervous about accidentally making them dirty.

Oh, I totally get that. I’m kind of surprised by how rare they are on my shelves though. I swear I had tons more 😂

The Shadows of the Gods is so good! Warbreaker and Two Wrongs Make a Right are both on my TBR too.

I can’t wait to read Shadow of the Gods. I really enjoy Gwynne’s writing so I’m hoping this will be a *win* for me too. I hope you enjoy the books on your TBR whenever you get around to them 😃

How lovely that you do this on your country’s day and not on the 4th of July, will have to think about that in October when it’s my country’s turn.
Happy Independence Day!

Thanks, Marianne! It was too perfect an opportunity being close enough to our independence day to give this topic a miss! 😂 I think it’d be quite fun to do for flags with more colours as well.

True. Our country only has three colours as well, that is, if you consider black a colour. 😉

Happy Independence Day, what a lovely idea to do this week’s topic on your own country’s independence day (or near enough!). You picked some lovely covers 🙂

This week’s prompt was tough! My brain is total mush this month, so I skipped TTT completely. lol I love your idea, though! So many great books!

I understand that completely. I saw the prompt for TTT and my brain was immediately like “yeah, nah, thanks” 😂 Thankfully, it didn’t take a lot of searching to find a different prompt that I’d missed and could do.
