#WWWWednesday: 9 August 2023

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I’ve managed to finish three books.

Amari and the Night Brothers (Supernatural Investigations #1) by B. B. Alston ★★★★★
This was my first re-read (and buddy read!) and I loved it just as much as the first time! Amari is such a fantastic MC and her story is so good! 😍 Chris and I immediately started the second book cos we couldn’t wait to see what happens next, lol.

The Agent and the Outlaw (Les Dames Dangereuses #2) by Lily Riley ★★★¾
I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first! Lily Riley is serving all the kick-ass, powerful, smart and witty FMCs and I’m all here for it! I loved the chemistry, tension, and banter between Charlotte and Antoine. 🔥

Bass-ackwards by Eris Adderly ★★★½
I was listening to the Fated Mates podcast about books that start with a bang and this is one of the books the hosts talked about. I’m gonna say this won’t be for everyone, I get why people won’t like it, and if I didn’t listen to the hosts talk about it and know what to expect, I probably would’ve DNFd it. But because I knew what was coming, I surprisingly enjoyed it!

  • Rival Radio62% → Despite enjoying this while reading, I haven’t gone back to it yet cos my mood swiftly changed!
  • A Conjuring of Light60% → I haven’t picked this back up yet and so I’m a little behind but loving it still! I love this morally grey villain—he’s so well-written!
  • Amari and the Night Brothers32% → A great start so far! Chris and I have the same theory about what’s happening and I can’t wait to read on to find out if we’re right or not, lol.

I have absolutely no clue because of how moody my mood has been lately. I’ve had my eye on a few titles but it could really be anything! 😂

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. Usually my instincts are spot-on when I feel like a book is not for me. So when my interest gets piqued after listening to someone else rave about a title I dismissed, I try not to succumb to the FOMO. Good fou for taking a chance – and I’m glad you ending up (mostly) enjoying Bass-ackwards.

    • Haha, I totally get what you mean!! I don’t think this book would’ve even made it on my radar had I not listened to the podcast but they really talked it up and I’m glad I gave it a chance. I totally see why it’s not for everyone though!

  2. I was just telling another blogger that I really need to finish the ADSOM series. I read the first book forever ago and never moved on to the next one. Hope you enjoy your current and upcoming reads!!
