#WWWWednesday: 31 May 2023

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve only managed to finish one book: The Assassin and the Libertine by Lily Riley. Honestly, I don’t think I was in the right headspace for it as I didn’t end up loving it as much as I thought I would. The writing and characters were fun but the romance was a bit too instalove and the mystery a little too OTT for me? That said, I’m keen to read more by Riley cos I enjoyed the sassiness of the writing/characters. I gave this book ★★★☆☆!

  • The Burning God68% → We’re on part III now and it’s so brutal. Everyone is monstrous and everything is gruesome. Low-key wondering how Kuang wrote such a dark book. I mean, what kind of headspace would she have had to occupy? 😂 I’m impressed but also, damn, lol.
  • Thorn2% → I’m starting this for my buddy read with Leslie! We’ve had this on our TBRs for ages and I’m excited to finally be picking it up. I hope we both love it 😃

The magic of ✨mood reading✨ means it could be any of these.

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  2. The Assassin and the Libertine has quite the cover, sorry it was just a bit too much instalove to be more enjoyable. Enjoy whatever you pick up next, Dini.
