There are still two more days until May ends but I don’t think I’ll be finishing more books this month so I’m wrapping it up early.

May was my birthday month but honestly, everything was so low-key this month that I don’t even know where the days went. I know I basically took one full week off to do nothing but read and (mostly) game but as for the rest of the days, things have blended into one big blur of long and busy work days and little else. 😂 My life is so riveting! If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that right now I’m pretty much obsessed with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which was released this month. Other than the game, I didn’t really splurge on books or treat myself to retail therapy—I mostly indulged in “me” time and I don’t regret it. I can’t believe I’m 35 though, lol.

I managed to read 17 books in May. I didn’t read as much as I hoped to but I also kind of expected it knowing that TOTK was releasing. 😂 Looking back on my reading this month, I also have to say that it was a bit “mid”, although there were a couple books that stood out. Castles in their Bones and Sunbolt were a couple of my favourites this month but if I had to pick I think Castles would win the top spot. It was fast-paced, action-packed, and full of courtly intrigue, deception, betrayal, and romance! I can’t wait to (hopefully) read the next book soon.

- Goodreads Reading Challenge → 61/150 → This is currently inaccurate as I haven’t fully updated my Goodreads reading list! The correct count should be around 63 books (not a huge difference) but this means I’m still ahead of schedule!

- Project Backlist Reading Challenge → Committed Reader + ARCrasinator badges
- Committed Reader: Over 50% of my reads this month were from my backlist!
- ARCrasinator: I was horrible and read only 1 ARC this month. 🫣
- Magical Readathon: Choose Your Own Adventure → 5/12 → I’m now back on track!
- 12 Book Challenge → 3/12 → I made no progress… This is really not going well, lol.

- Caro answered The Spring Cleaning Book Tag and reviewed This Is Not a Personal Statement
- Lindsey found a new favourite romantasy in The Serpent and the Wings of Night
- Nicole interviewed author Andrea Stewart and got me more excited to finally read her series
- Stephanie updated her list of awesome duologies to read
- Celeste shared a list of Historical Fantasies and Bite-Sized Fantasies for Wyrd and Wonder
- Jordyn shared a great big birthday recommendation list cos it was also her birthday month!
- Umairah loves Zelda too and shared book recs for every Legend of Zelda game
- Shazzie reviewed The Book That Wouldn’t Burn and made me want to read it asap
- The blogger crew at Queen’s Book Asylum shared 25 underrated self-published fantasies

And that’s it for May, friends! I can’t believe we’ve reached the halfway mark of the year in two days. Where the heck have all the days gone and why is time moving so quickly? 😂 I hope you’ve all had a great month and are taking good care of yourselves!

I am so happy you gave Don’t Go Baking My Heart four stars! I need to get to that this summer!

At least you’re doing something you enjoy if you’re not reading. It was still a good month for you. My daughter just got her Zelda game and I think she’s already addicted.

A staycation is good for recharging. Vacations, where you travel, can be exhausting. Seventeen is a lot of books. Good job!

Happy late Birthday, Dini! I’m so glad Zelda has been awesome! That is going to be me when Diablo comes out here in a few days, so I am frantically trying to get everything else completed, because e know all productivity is going to disappear after that!
