disclaimer: i’m absolutely losing my mind at work so i’m sorry if this post is a little dramatic 😂
Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve read three books.
I’m reading my books so slowly this year and it’s not for lack of interest. No, dear friends, it’s because I have zero room in my head to escape to other worlds out of fear that I’ll never want to come back to face my reality (which is that I must work to live, lol). More and more I despair at knowing that I’ll never be able to simply read my days away even though, more and more, that’s all I simply wish to be doing. 🥺

(KU) King of Wrath (Kings of Sin #1) by Ana Huang ★★★★☆ (actual: 3.75)
I haven’t read Huang in a while but I forgot how angsty her romances are. Lucky for me, I’ve come to appreciate deliciously angsty romances and this fits the bill. I really liked Vivian and together with Dante, they made a FIRE couple! I gave it 4 stars for pure enjoyment—this was exactly what I was looking for!
(KU) The Six Deaths of the Saint (Into Shadow #3) by Alix E. Harrow ★★★★★
This deserves all the hype it’s getting because wow, Harrow made me feel so much emotion in so short a time. This is incredible storytelling with beautiful prose, a wonderful character, and bittersweet romance. Highly recommended!
In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation by Alexandra Vasti ★★★★½
This was a fantastic histrom novella! I’m so glad this got put on my radar (thanks, Nick!) cos Vasti has big potential to become a new favourite. Yes, I’m saying that after reading one novella. Her writing was SUCH A DELIGHT to read—it was witty, sharp, and hilarious, and her characters? I loved them! 😍 Henry the studiously shy poleaxed idiot and besotted fool absolutely won me over! Please, I want more.

I’ve got two reads on at the minute:
- Silver in the Bone by Alexandra Bracken→ 55%→ Buddy reading with Leslie & Julie and enjoying it so far! Had a bit of a rough start and the MC is not my favourite but I love the retelling aspect! 😍
- In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint by Alexandra Vasti→ 5%→ Literally at the beginning of this, I already love it though and that’s because of Vasti’s writing!

The magic of ✨mood reading✨ means it could be any of these.

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

Sounds like I really need to read that Alix Harrow short story….

Hopefully Silver in the Bone works for me, lol. I really need to get to it since it is so long! My reading has been quite slow the last few days.

Hmm… I’m very curious to see how Silver in the Bone works for you! In the end, Leslie, Julie and I felt the same about it 🤪 I hope you’ve found a good book (or a few of them) to get you through the week, Joanna!

I do agree that Tamsin got better! Gave me Spice Road vibes for the character development but maybe a little less strong. I’m really curious about what happens next though. I can’t believe we’re gonna have to wait ages to get our hands on it!? 😂 I hope you’re having a great week too, Leslie! 💜

Yes! Totally agree. The good news about the wait is that we have a million other books to read before then! hahaha. lol. Thank you! It’s been good so far. Enjoying the weekend now!! ❤

Haha, I don’t think I remember you mentioning it in our chat but did you ever end up liking her more by the end? She really got on my nerves but I appreciated her growth by the end. Still not a “fave” but much better than the start, lol

I did like her more by the end. Not my fave either, but I understood her better and liked the bit of growth she showed.

YAS! The Halifax Hellions books are only available (for free) by signing up to the author’s newsletter. I’m so excited for her debut novel that comes out… Next year! 😂 I’ve already got it on my TBR! I really enjoyed her writing and I hope you do too, Ali! I’m just about to start Seven Faceless Saints. Have you read it?
