We’re back with another Goodreads Monday, a weekly meme started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. This meme invites you to pick a book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it. Easy enough, right? Feel free to join in if you want to! I’ll be using a random number generator to pick my books from my insanely long GR Want-to-read list.
This week’s book is Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage. I believe that this may also be known as “Bad Apple” in some countries or editions. I added this book to my TBR list about a year ago. I can’t remember when I first heard about it but the cover is actually what really caught my eye. It’s simple but there’s something about it that I really like. It’s a mystery, thriller, and I guess part horror and it has 3.63 stars rating on Goodreads.

Sweetness can be deceptive.
Meet Hanna.
She’s the sweet-but-silent angel in the adoring eyes of her Daddy. He’s the only person who understands her, and all Hanna wants is to live happily ever after with him. But Mommy stands in her way, and she’ll try any trick she can think of to get rid of her. Ideally for good.
Meet Suzette.
She loves her daughter, really, but after years of expulsions and strained home schooling, her precarious health and sanity are weakening day by day. As Hanna’s tricks become increasingly sophisticated, and Suzette’s husband remains blind to the failing family dynamics, Suzette starts to fear that there’s something seriously wrong, and that maybe home isn’t the best place for their baby girl after all.
Why do I want to read it?
Every time I read that synopsis my brain immediately goes on “that’s freaking terrifying” alert and goosebumps break out all over my arms. It sounds incredibly messed up and I know I’m going to be squirming in whatever seat I read this book in; there’s just something about sinister children, y’know? Still, I really want to read this book. Admittedly, I’ve heard some pretty mixed reviews, with some people saying that it wasn’t “as bad” as they thought it would be (which I think in my case might be a good thing lol) but others have gone on to say the complete opposite. I’m keen to find out for myself! I think the Kindle edition that I have for this book is actually called “Bad Apple” but I’ll have to double check.
Have you read Baby Teeth / Bad Apple or is it on your TBR too?

Haha, I always find this title creepy.
