Yes, I’m aware it’s now Sunday but yesterday was a weird day for me combined with work + bingeing The Good Place. I didn’t realize I hadn’t posted anything until it was 1AM and I was still binge watching the series. So I’m posting this a little late… But one day late is better than never!
It’s time for another Top 5 SaturdaySunday, a weekly meme created by Mandy @ Devouring Books and this week’s topic is: books to be read by the end of the year. I actually answered a similar prompt for last week’s Thursday Discussion post, which you can read here. For this prompt I decided to look at the final books in series that I wanted to read this year and still haven’t got to. Is it highly ambitious to want to finish these series seeing as December is already here and I’ve got so many freaking books that I hope to finish before 2019 ends? It definitely is. But who knows what’ll happen, right?! Maybe December will be my miracle month of reading and I’ll be able to fly through whatever I pick up, even if I’m unsure that I’m really in the mood for it 😃It could be my tropical Christmas miracle! 😂
Kingdom of Ash: Throne of Glass Series
I’ve been torn between reading the whole series again before reading the final book… But being realistic, I know that’s just not going to happen and I’m going to keep putting this final book off 😂 I should just find one of those great recap websites to refresh myself on what happened pre-Tower of Dawn!
Finale: Caraval Series
Another series, another finale! Hah. Yeah, OK. Anyway, I think I want to re-read Legendary before Finale (because my memory is so … 😔). I’m really annoyed that I didn’t start writing reviews before reading all these books because then I could’ve just read my review to recap. But no. Le super sigh.
The Toll: Arc of A Scythe Series
Again, also torn between re-reading the first two books before getting to this? But my physical pre-order copy finally arrived a few days ago (lol yes, it was a pre-order and it still takes this long to get to me 😅) and I’m so tempted to just… Dive straight in after going to one of those recap sites (again)!
Muse of Nightmares: Strange the Dreamer Series
I’ve actually randomly picked up Muse of Nightmares at various points throughout the year so I’ve technically “kind of” started it but I find that my hate for Minya is so freaking intense that it overwhelms me? 😂 Honestly, I think I just need to suck it up and power through this book! But then I also think, should I reread Strange first? (The answer is no, I really shouldn’t coz it’s likely never gonna happen anyway!)
Vengeful: Villains Series
I have been saying that I’ll read Vengeful throughout the year and I think that I’m starting to annoy myself for constantly putting it off. Why am I putting it off? No particular reason. I have a feeling I’ll enjoy it, but maybe not as much as Vicious? Guess there’s only one way to find out! 😅

I know the feels! I really am so tempted to re-read the series before diving into it coz now it’s just been too long. But… Someone mentioned just reading from book 5 (before Tower of Dawn) and … I’m kinda tempted. So it might happen! 😂

Honestly, rereading the entire TOG series before Kingdom helped in some ways, but really, if you just read the last part of book 5 you should be okay. (I just ignore Tower because I kept falling asleep reading it.) ANYWAYS awesome list! I’m not sure I’ve got series I need to finish so much as I have too many books and not enough time!

Hahaha and I was just saying in another comment on this post that someone mentioned reading from book five and you were who I was talking about but I couldn’t remember! 🤣 I think I might just do that then (defo a lot less intimidating than starting from one again)! Defo agree on having too many books and not enough reading time! Such a pain lol 🤣

I still need to read Finale and Muse of Nightmares, too! I picked up Scythe, but didn’t get to it.

I have so many series that I want to finish! I should probably use all of 2020 to try and finish all the series that I’ve started because it’s insane… Muse of Nightmares was INCREDIBLE and that’s my favorite series ever. I haven’t read Scythe, but I want to… and I need to get to Finale too!! I have so many books I need to get to… I need a time turner please.

YES time turner please!!! Haha there really are just too many books to get to and never enough reading time. I wish that my job would be to just laze about and read every day 😂 at least for a little while! I’ve heard amazing things about Muse and I’m excited to read it but also Minya makes me wanna cry in frustration 😩haha

Minya is a big part of muse if I remember right. I’d love to get into publishing and be paid to read the slush pile

I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t started any of these series yet and I really want to. This could be my “Series I Want to Start Before 2019 ends”! 😂 I hope I’ll get to read all of them in 2020. Great post, Dini!

Oh, I’ve read Scythe and Thunderhead already! Admittedly it was ages ago (or maybe that’s just my really bad memory) so I wanna have a quick refresher on one of those recap sites coz I don’t know if I’ll have the patience to reread both books right now 😂 but maybe… Let’s see! I just really wanna read The Toll!

Haha I feel this, Emer! I jumped on getting both hardcovers and signed copies when someone was selling her copies on one of those BTS pages. I impatiently waited for my sister to bring them to me from the States. And I was so happy when she did and then… Well, yeah. It’s just sitting there now. All sad (but at least not lonely?!) 🤣
