What did you read last?
So… I did manage to finish reading two books: Party Weekend (Sweet Valley High #143) by Francine Pascal and A Random Act of Kindness by Sophie Jenkins. SVH was short and I read it pretty quickly, and while A Random Act of Kindness wasn’t particularly long, it took me a good four days to finish! This book slump though, am I right?! BUT two books is definitely better than no books, so I’m just going to keep pushing my way through this! Reviews for both coming soon(ish).

Well, I’m still trying to find the next book that’ll stick for me after finishing A Random Act two days ago… It’s not going so well, but there’s one thing I haven’t tried yet and that’s switching genres. So I’m going to be attempting to read a few thrillers. I’m hoping one will stick! I’m looking at: Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus, Truly Devious (Truly Devious #1) by Maureen Johnson and TH1RT3EN (Eddie Flynn #4) by Steve Cavanagh (because YAY for finishing another overdue ARC)!
What will you read next?
I’m hoping that in the spirit of ARC August I’ll be able to get to a few more of these overdue ARCs before the month passes me by! I mean, how are we already in the double digits of this month?! I mean, what? 😒

Oh my gosh … Sweet Valley High. Now that brings back memories. And now I feel old. D: Excuse me while I just take my walker here and retire into a corner.
Switching genres sounds like a solid plan! And thrillers are sort of characterized by being hard to put down, yeah? So hopefully that’ll work out well.
Oh, shoot, we are in the double digits, aren’t we? Almost halfway done with the month. Excuse me while I also go panic. xD

OMG tell me about it! I felt so old while reading it and I just kept thinking WAS I THIS TERRIBLE IN HS!? Bahaha it was kinda… Yikes! I know HS me defo loved it though!
I think I might pick up Truly Devious tonight or The Whisper Man, a thriller that has been getting a lot of hype on bookstagram and one I’m also REALLY terrified to read? LOL I hope it does the trick of pulling me out of this slump though!

I’m pretty sure I wasn’t that terrible in HS, but then maybe I just blacked out that part of my life for my own well-being. Who knows? 😛
OH MY GOSH, I wanna know what you think of The Whisper Man if you read it! I really want to read that one. It’s supposed to be so good. Read it and then sleep with the lights on. xD I hope it works on your slump!

I READ IT! It was proper creepy! Yeesh, I’ve been working hard to tamp down my overactive imagination so I don’t go thinking that I’m hearing things everywhere 😂Ooh, getting goosebumps thinking about it! But I’d defo recommend. I did have to sleep with the lights on last night though hahaha but I think it has helped pull me out of the dreaded slump 😃

Those are some good choices for ARCs. I recently requested Truly Devious so maybe we’ll end up liking that one together 🙂

Book slumps are the worst! I hope yours passes soon. I always find that trying to force myself to read only makes it worse so I try to reread a favorite or just take a break for a few days. Probably the Best Kiss in the World has the best cover and title! Love it! 🙂

Book slumps are absolutely the worst! I’ve been taking breaks between trying to continue reading, but it hasn’t helped much. I really stepped out of my comfort zone this weekend though and I think that shook me out of the slump (fingers crossed 🤞🏽)! Lol
I also love the cover and title of Best Kiss! It was why I requested the ARC but ugh, of course I haven’t read it yet 🙈
