TL;DR: Am I kicking off the 2025 spooky season with a monster romance? I sure am and I’m 100% here for it! 🀭 While it did take me longer than expected to finish due to some pacing issues, I overall really enjoyed it and I’m keen to continue the series. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a (very) slow-burn, enemies to lovers, mainly character driven monster romance set in a futuristic world where humans live in underwater cities.

TL;DR: This was an action-packed supernatural/paranormal historical romance set in an alternate 1700s France where the blood plague runs rampant and vampires have taken over Paris. Despite being a little [too] instalust/love, I liked the romance between Charlotte and Antoine, and I found their dynamic, banter and chemistry to be fantastic. I didn’t know whether they would fight or give in to their feelings and tear each other’s clothes off, but I do know it kept me on my toes and eagerly anticipating what would happen next. If you like a lot of action and a bit of mystery with your slightly angsty and intense romances, I’d recommend it!

They have a pretty formulaic way of storytelling that I thankfully really enjoy and it also means I know exactly what I’m getting. Clean Sweep didn’t disappoint and I can’t wait to continue on with the rest of the series!

TL;DR: My Roommate is a Vampire was a funny and entertaining romance. This was a romcom that had plenty of romance and comedy with an additional paranormal twist in its modern-day setting! Cassie and Frederick were an endearingly awkward and cute vampire and human duo who were simply trying to figure out how to share the same space without giving in to the burning attraction they felt for each other knowing what a bad idea it would be to give in. Ultimately, this was a story that didn’t seem to take itself too seriously and I think if you’re looking for a laugh-out-loud read with cute feel-good moments, plus a couple of steamy ones too, then I would recommend this!

But the witch is funny. And curvy. And disgustingly yet endearingly cheerful. Becoming awkward roommates quickly escalates when Mariel, terrified to confess the inadvertent summoning to her mother, blurts out that she’s dating Ozroth. As Ozroth and Mariel struggle with their opposing goals and maintaining a fake relationship, real attraction blooms between them. But Ozroth has a limited amount of time to strike the deal, and if Mariel gives up her soul, she’ll lose all her emotionsβ€”including loveβ€”which will only spell disaster for them both.

TL;DR: This has been one of my hotly anticipated paranormal romances and while it started out strong, the overall execution fell a bit flat for me. At first, I found the writing witty, the characters funny and their narration entertaining but somewhere along the way, I found myself connecting with it less and less until I was glad that it was finally over. Mariel and Oz have interesting arcs, the mystery of the sick forest was compelling and I was all for standing up against the environmental destruction of such a magical place and against toxic families. Ultimately though, I think there was too much stuffed into this to really do each part of it justice and I wanted more despite also thinking that this could have been shorter. Considering how well-loved this is though, this might just be an “it’s not you, it’s me” thing so take this review as you will! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

It honestly felt like I was reading The House in the Cerulean Sea but make it more diverse, inclusive, whimsical, cheekily sexy and romantic! 😍 If you’re a fan of cosy witchy goodness then what are you waiting for? Read this ASAP!

TL;DR: Everything about this resonated and it was wonderful. I think I’ve discovered another new favourite this year! I’m an emotional reader as it is but I love when a book can reel me in and get me so deeply in my feelings. I don’t know if it’s the things that have been going on with me personally over the last year (plus+), but the discussions of loss, grief and healing, finding hope, and rediscovering love, just hit me so hard and I found myself constantly crying, laughing, and swooning as I read. I also loved the honest and heartfelt romanceβ€”it was swoony and heartwarming and I enjoyed reading about Florence and Ben together! Long story short, I’m so glad I read this and I highly recommend it.

These two were so incredibly precious and sweet and beyond deserving of their HEAβ€”what a journey they went through to get to where they are in this book. I loved their story so much!

TL;DR: This series honestly keeps getting better and this group of supernaturals feels more like family with every book I read and I WANT MORE. These books definitely play into the paranormal romance ‘mate’ trope but I love the way Juliette Cross writes it. There’s so much tenderness, heart and emotional vulnerability in these characters and their romance that it makes it easy to fall in love with them and to root for their HEA. Livvy and Gareth were absolute FIRE! πŸ₯΅ Their tension and chemistry were so intense that I was sure my Kindle would malfunction! πŸ˜‚ I loved every moment of their story and their playlist was absolute PERFECTION and suited them to a T!
