Happy Thursday, book pandas! I’m so sad that it’s been an age since I last did a community post. Life has been a lot over the past several months and I’ve completely dropped the ball with engaging and checking out other blogger’s posts. I’ve been trying to remedy that, but it’s taking time to get back into the groove of things. But here are some of the posts that I’ve really enjoyed reading this past 1+ month.
I hope you’re able to find some new blogs to follow, posts to enjoy, and maybe even books to add to your TBR! ✨📖 Happy Reading!📖✨
July… What happened in July? Honestly, I ain’t got a clue. It was my first month on a retainer contract (meaning I have 3-days of work per month) and “suddenly” finding myself with a heckuva lot more free time resulted in me getting very comfortable very quickly with doing nothing particularly productive every day. 😅 *big sigh* I guess you can say that I have a very lazy + avoidant personality, so I tend to really stick to my comfort zone, which means that I (mostly) allow myself to shove my head in the sand and just exist in ignorant bliss. Iam the question hound in the “on fire” comic strip turned meme where the house is burning down and the hound is sat at the table saying “this is fine” (at least for now).

In other news, well, there really isn’t much other news. I managed to be productive a few times over the past month by doing a spot of spring cleaning here and there, but otherwise, I’ve just been languishing the days away… I’m trying not to be too hard on myself cos this is a big life change and I’m very much a creature of comfort and routine, so it has messed me up a bit. But I hope that August will see a turn around at some point. 🙂 Here are some photos from gaming, bookstagram, book mail, and my catto. 🐈
✨ Happy Thursday, book lovers! We’ve almost reached the weekend! ✨
Another month has come and gone so it’s time to share one of my favourite posts that I make at the end of every month: the community posts! This is a collection of posts I read from bloggers across the book community over the past month. July was another month where didn’t spend as much time as I wanted reading posts on the blogosphere, but I hope you’ll take the time to visit some of these creators and show them the love they deserve! ✨📖 Happy reading! 📖✨
July is somehow already over and I already can’t seem to recall what I did this past month! 🤣 Honestly, I have zero social life and most of my days I’m at work, sometimes going to the gym, and then coming home to blog and read. That might sound sad or miserably boring to a lot of people, but I kind of love my quiet life. Or maybe in true panda fashion, I’m just too lazy to do much of anything (this is actually very true too)! 🤭 I struggled to get myself back into the gym this month with life getting in the way but I did at least manage to go about half the month, and I hope to continue the streak in August. Other than that, I think it was a pretty quiet and uneventful month!
Happy Monday, friends! I thought I’d kick this week off on a high note and share some community posts I loved reading in June and July. Since I posted my June wrap-up ridiculously late, I decided to combine the monthly posts and because of that, this might be a bit longer than usual. Still, I hope you enjoy checking these posts out and spreading the love to the community! On that note, I’m gonna jump straight to the posts.
I just got around to posting my June wrap-up and it’s now time for July’s! This month had more going on than June but the latter half slowed down considerably. My brother’s wedding reception took place at the start of the month and that was lovely. I wrote a bit about it in this post if you want to see some pictures from the day! 🌻 Unfortunately, after that I got knocked out by a severe throat infection for a week. I couldn’t swallow for days and it took much longer than anticipated for me to bounce back. I’m doing okay now though and for the rest of the month, I’ve just been focusing on getting through the work days and restarting my Animal Crossing game play! 💜
On the gaming front, I’ve also been loving Potion Permit, an open-ended cosy fantasy RPG where you play a chemist from the big city stationed in a small countryside town. There are tons of quests, ingredients to collect, areas to explore, potions to brew, and friends to make. It’s got Stardew Valley style pixel graphics and a similar game play (also to Harvest Moon/SoS). I’ve been playing it on Switch and taking my sweet time with it cos I don’t want it to end! 😂
June and July were… Months. 😂 Work took over my life—and not in the best way—in June and what should have been a month of decompressing and destressing in July, was filled with personal losses that really broke my heart. They weren’t the greatest months and have solidified the fact that 2023 is a year of utter chaos, confusion and change even more so than the previous years, at least for me personally! I’m hoping that the rest of the year will be significantly better but at this point I’m just trying to do what’s best for me by taking it one day at a time, losing myself in games, and slowly working my way back to books, reading and blogging.
