Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

As expected, it was quite a slow reading week and since last Wednesday, I’ve only managed to finish 1 book, but it has become a new favourite of mine so I can’t complain!

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi (Amina al-Sirafi #1) by Shannon Chakraborty ★★★★★
Say hello to my first 5-star read of 2026! 🎉 This was a grand pirate-y adventure and I had an absolute blast with Amina and her crew. The banter was excellent, the world-building was stunning, and the characters and found family vibes were amazing. It’s as great as everyone said it would be.

Some Desperate Glory ⇢ 35%
One of my goals this year is to read more of my Illumicrate books and I’m kicking that ‘project’ off this year with this one. I’m buddy reading it with Chris and so far, I’m enjoying it! It’s a space opera sci-fi and Tesh’s writing is very readable. The MC is very unlikable, although that seems to be intentional—I’m hoping for a satisfying redemption arc there! 🤞🏽

I have no idea what I want to read next but I’m hoping to pick up a backlist… Here are a few I’ve got my eyes on!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

I’m currently reading Make it Out Alive by Allison Brennan
In the last week I read 🥁
1 Death at a Highland Wedding by Kelley Armstrong
2 Kirkyards and Kindness by Kelley Armstrong
3 No Matter the Cost by Anna Hackett
4 Mortal Remains by Kaylea Cross
Next up will hopefully be the new JD Robb, if it arrives in time.
