#WWWWednesday: 3 December 2025

Leslie and I are planning a group read for Dungeon Crawler Carl starting in January 2026! Find more details on Leslie’s page or at the end of this post!

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

We’re somehow doing Wednesday posts in December already… Still trying to let that sink in a bit 😂 Since last week I only managed to read one book? I don’t know what I’ve been doing… Haha, maybe gaming and just being all around lazy really, but distractible at best! 🙃

Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith
★★★★☆

This was a great YA contemporary that explores the incredible highs of being part of an online gaming community, but also the terrifying and very real-life dangers that come with it too. Divya and Aaron were great characters and I found this a well-balanced read mixing the very serious and lighter elements (including a romance) evenly! I’d recommend it to all readers, but especially younger ones (middle/high schoolers+).

I haven’t gone back to Anthropocene from last month (not surprising) but I am fully obsessed with one of my current reads that I started on a whim over the weekend. It’s so good and I can fell that addictive feeling brewing every time I immerse myself into that world.

  • Assassin’s Apprentice ⇢ 62% ⇢ I already mentioned that I’ve become increasingly obsessed with this but I really can’t get enough. I love learning about Fitz’ story from his reflective pov, and it got so intense this morning that I even cried on the train! 😭 I was so into it. If this is how I feel now, how am I going to feel by the end of reading the entire Realm of the Elderlings Series?! I can’t wait to find out 😍
  • Crier’s War ⇢ 16% ⇢ This is the last Owlcrate buddy read that our group has fallen behind on but we’re determined to complete this challenge before the year ends. I don’t have much to say right now but I am enjoying it and I find the concept/world very interesting. I feel like I might attempt a binge this weekend!

I’ll be starting my next buddy read with Leslie tomorrow and we’re reading the fifth Thursday Murder Club book. I’m sad there aren’t anymore to get to after this! I also just got sent the eARC for the next Kate Canterbary and we all know I’m obsessed with her books. So excited to read it! 😍

Join our big group read for Dungeon Crawler Carl in January 2026!

Even before we finished the seventh book in September, we already knew we wanted to do a bigger re-read of the series in the lead up to the eighth book coming out in 2026! We also figured this would be really fun reading in a bigger group, so that’s what we’re doing! We’ll start in January and read roughly 1 book per month to prepare for the release of the next book later in the year! We’re hosting it on Instagram so leave a comment below or message me (@dinipandareads) or Leslie (@booksarethenewblack11) over there if you’d like to join.
🧨 GET EXCITED, CRAWLERS! 🧨

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

    • YES! Omg, it’s SO GOOD! I’m properly obsessed and I haven’t felt this way about a fantasy series in a long time. There’s just something so wonderful about the writing. It flows so well and fully captivates you, lol. And YES! If you do read it and catch up and love it, we can do like a massive Realm of the Elderlings year-long readathon or something for the rest of the books in this world 😂 I’m already super excited at the thought of having so many books to read in this world, hahaha. I hope you love it so we can read together 💜 I think this’ll be a super fun one to do!

      • YAY! I am so excited by your excitement. haha. I know, so many people love this world. My friend’s husband read it and loved it too. I’m going to see if I can fit book one and two in soon. Then we can do like one a month!

  3. The Farseer trilogy is probably my favourite fantasy every – word of warning, if you’re already tearing up, the end of book 3 had me sobbing like a … very very sobby thing!! Loved it ❤

    • Y’know, I had a feeling this series would emotionally devastate me, especially since I became so quickly invested after the first book! I’ve never felt as rage-y towards characters as I do towards several of the ones in this book and… now I’m pretty scared about what’s going to happen in book 3. 😂 Are all the series in Realm of the Elderlings connected? Or are the stories interconnected but don’t pick up after the other? (not sure if my question makes sense, sorry lol)

      • They are connected, albeit telling stories from different parts of the world. For example, the Liveship books does feature a character from the Farseer ones (no spoilers!) but is set on another continent. Those two series can be read in either order, though (and fair warning: people usually love the one they read first, and find the other not exactly disappointing, but maybe too different?), while other series follow Fitz and need to be read more in order. As the whole lot continues, you build up more of the background picture to the whole world/history – it’s amazingly well done!

And argh, I totally need a reread now!!
