This week’s topic is:
End-of-Year Reading Goals
Prompts: What books do you want to read before the end of the year? Are there any new releases you’re still looking forward to? What goals did you set at the beginning of the year? Have you changed or added to those goals?

What books do you want to read before the end of the year?
I guess now would be the perfect time to jump onto the “10 Before the End” train since I’ve been meaning to do it for a while but just never got around to it! So without further ado, let’s take a look at 10 books I’d still love to read before the year ends…

Are there any new releases you’re still looking forward to?
At this point, I actually have no clue but I don’t think so! 😂 If my memory serves me right (although I don’t trust it) the last of my “most anticipated reads” have released at this point. However, as I’ve mentioned a couple of times before, I don’t pay that much attention to pub dates and despite doing my best to get better every year, I’m still not very on it, lol.
What goals did you set at the beginning of the year? Have you changed or added to those goals?
I set several reading goals at the start of the year and despite being tempted at certain points, I didn’t make any changes to them (or really looked at them) since. I haven’t done a stellar job with the majority of these goals—although I’ve excelled in listening to way more audiobooks this year than in any other year before—but I’ve been making steady progress on all of them throughout the year. I still hope to achieve my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal of 150 books. I’ve got about 20 books to go and I’m cautiously hopeful about hitting my target!
I’d also still love to complete the year-long challenges I joined this year: the Popsugar Reading Challenge, Buzzword Challenge, and the 2025 Year in Aeldia challenge. The challenge I’ve got the most left to read for is the Popsugar so I think I’ll focus my year end reading on books that can fulfill those prompts (in addition to the “10 Before the End” picks above):

I hope you reach your goal. I feel like I’m really behind on mine tho, and the new goodreads layout is not helping with that lol Nice post!

I don’t know what Goodreads is doing but I’ve been finding all the changes they made this year quite irritating 😂

Quite a few books I want to read before the year end. I need to reach my target of 200
The Wake by Yrsa Sigurdardottir
The Bone Thief by Vanessa Lillie
Roommate Game by Lane Hayes
Unbroken by Jordon L Hawk
Omnitron by Pauline Baird Jones
After hours at Dooryard books by Cat Sebastian
Irresistibly Wicked by Melissa Foster
A Cowboy’s Claim by Vivian Arend
Tamsyn by Veronica Scott (release in December)
Scars of Silence by Johana Gustawsson if the library comes through
These are the definates. A few others may creep in there

I haven’t heard of any of these titles but I hope you enjoy them and you manage to reach your goal of 200! You must not be far off now?

Same here! I’m honestly a little intimidated by the hype but seeing how much everyone loves it, I’m keen to check it out 🙂 I hope we love if/when we read it!

If I had to hype one of you 10 before the end, it would be the Pooley book. So fun and feel-good. Loved all her books. Those Coffee books are always good for some warm-fuzzy feels. Good Luck!

I’m currently searching for a book I want to read next and nothing has stuck based on what I’ve picked up… So I’m going to try Pooley’s book and hopefully, it will be the one hehe

Ooh, that’s exciting to see! I’ve been eyeing that one since the beginning of the year and can’t decide when to pick it up because I feel like I have to be in the mood for it? Now that I’ve finished my last read and trying to decide what to pick up next, maybe I should see if my mood is ready for this 🤭 I hope you continue enjoying it!

I love these types of posts!! I have abandoned my challenges, it was a tough year, so I am even more impressed by how well everyone is doing! I am surprised that despite not checking it as often, you’re doing so well, good job!
You seem to have very interesting and different books in both lists, I cannot wait to see your progress, good luck!

A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping was a great read. I hope you enjoy reading all of these when you get the opportunity (or the mood strikes!!).
I set myself two reading goals this year-to read 52 books and to read 26 books I own. I’ve demolished the first goal, and two books short of the second goal. I try to keep my goals doable, so I’m not stressed about achieving them.
I’ve seen the prompt list for next year’s Popsugar and I’m debating about giving it a try. We shall see!
