#WWWWednesday: 18 December 2024

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I feel like I’ve been reading a lot but I’ve started more books than I’ve finished. Since last week I’ve managed to finish 2 books.

A Taste of Gold and Iron (Mahisti Dynasty #1) by Alexandra Rowland
Rating: ★★★★½

Oh, how I came to love Kadou and Evemer. Despite wanting a bit more from the world-building, it was the characters and their relationships that made this a fantastic read. The romance was the most delicious slow-burn and the angst and yearning/mutual pining had me racing to the finish! I loved it. 🥰

Lady Derring Takes a Lover (The Palace of Rogues #1) by Julie Anne Long
Rating: ★★★★☆

This was my first JAL romance but it won’t be my last! I loved the found family vibes, the women taking back control of their lives, and the swoontastic romance between Lady Derring and Captain Hardy. The mutual pining, coy flirtations, and sexual tension were as fantastic as the strong female friendships and I enjoyed it so much!

It’s another week where I’ve got multiple reads ongoing. I’m reading little bits of each one because my mood has been all over the show, so while it feels like I’ve been reading a lot, I guess I haven’t really? 🫣 Most of these will fulfil the final prompts for my two reading challenges this year I’m just struggling cos of my mood…

I’m starting to feel more of the festive mood so I’m keen to read more books set around the holiday season! ❄️

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

    • My mood can’t decide whether I want to read it or not but I think I’m going to push forward cos it’s less than 300 pages and with a YA that’s usually a pretty quick read for me. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Let’s see if I manange to get through it right now 🤭

I did manage to finish Butcher and Blackbird and now I feel like that’s helped me get out of a slumpish feeling! I hope you end up loving one or all of these!! Have a wonderful week, Dini ❤
