Monthly Wrap-Up: August 2024

What was August? Where did August go? I have no idea. All I know is that it was a stressful month and I’m sorry for whining about it all the time in my weekly wrap-ups! 😂 This month was consumed, as usual, by work and stress due to increased workloads and organizational changes that impacted my whole team. I have to be honest, the latter months of the year are not off to a great start (and I’m saying this on the 1st of September, lol)! I want to say that I hope September will be less stressful but I know it won’t be… So let’s just say I’m looking forward to October! 😄

It felt like I read a lot more in August than I did in July but it turns out that I ended up reading the same amount: 14 books. At least this month I had one 5-star read and well, one 4.5-star read that is my favourite book this month: Black Sun! I’ve still clung heavily to my romance reads but I’ve also added more genres to the mix this month.

I was a little better with my reading challenges this month although I admit that the book I chose for Year in Aeldia isn’t a “cosy” book but it is a “comfort” book; at least, it is to me and I can see myself re-reading this graphic novel when I want a comfort read.

Project Backlist Reading Challenge: 📚 2 backlist books // 📱 0 backlist ARCs
2024 Buzzwordathon: June (“measurement”): A Girl Like Her
2024 Year in Aeldia: June (“book about a topic you care about”): We Are Big Time

And that’s it for August, friends. How was your month? How was your reading? What was your favourite book and moment of the month? I’d love to know! Hope everyone is doing well and taking care 💜

  1. I’ve seen three separate blogs mention or review IMMORTAL DARK already today! I clearly missed the memo on that one…then again it’s YA so that’s probably why it wasn’t on my radar. Despite having a stressful work month, it’s great you still found time to read! I hope this month is a little bit easier on you, though I know you said October might be when you’re less stressed.

  2. Immortal Dark sounds so good! & Thanks for reminding me about the August book for A Year in Aeldia, I hadn’t picked a book yet but luckily I read a cozy one! lol
