Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve finished five books. What started off as a relatively rough-ish reading week has ended with me finding a book (series) that’s spurring my reading drive again. I love Ilona Andrews and their ability to do this to me every time I pick up one of their books!

True Love and Other Impossible Odds by Christina Li ★★★½
I enjoyed this solid debut by Li. It’s a great story about finding your voice, embracing yourself, choosing your own path and finding love! CHECK OUT MY REVIEW
The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas ★★½
Maybe I’m being particularly harsh with this rating but honestly, I felt pretty bored reading this. The pace was sluggish and I didn’t find the characters or plot very compelling despite the intriguing premise. I was going to rate it 3 stars because it was just OK but writing my review made me realise that it was going to be a lower rating! 🫣
The Wolf of Mayfair by Christi Caldwell ★★☆☆☆
This was my first and probably last Caldwell book. I hadn’t heard much about the author’s books and what I heard was mixed, but when I saw this on NG with no plans for what to read next, I started it immediately. Let’s just say it was painful and I wish I could get the hours back reading it, lol.
Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy #1) by Ilona Andrews ★★★★½
I LOVE ILONA ANDREWS. I know their paranormal-urban fantasy-romance might not be for everyone but I love their world-building and magic systems, the combination of action-packed mystery and romance, and strong characters. Nevada is a great FMC and I’m low-key obsessed with Mad Rogan. I have Fated Mates’ thirsty tweet about the sensual uses of telekinetic powers to thank for spurring me into picking this up ASAP, lmao! 😂
White Hot (Hidden Legacy #2) by Ilona Andrews ★★★★★
I’m enjoying this series so much! The world-building, magic, action, mystery and ROMANCE. Talk about SWOON 😭 I love Mad Rogan and Nevada so much! I’m enjoying the pace of this a lot as well.

Wildfire (Hidden Legacy #3) ⇢ 8%
I’m continuing my binge-read of this series! I’m still loving it 🥹 but I have a feeling it’s going to get angsty. I also just saw that the next books follow Nevada’s younger sister, so I thought after finishing this would be a good stopping point before moving on to the ARCs I should be reading! 😂

I’ll Give You the Sun ⇢ 23%
I actually started this on my plane ride home from Bali on Monday but I haven’t picked it up since. It’s… Quirky + odd but incredibly sad + angsty. I love a good sad cathartic read but not sure if I want to continue for now? It’s different from what I expected… Also, the chapters are super long. 😅

It’s time to seriously dive into the ARCs!

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

Sorry you weren’t a fan of The Cheerleaders! I read it a couple years ago so maybe my opinion will have changed, but I did enjoy it back then lol. I have Foul days to read too! One of the last two arcs left for June.
