Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve finished two books. I also put one book on pause for now because while I was enjoying it and learning a lot, I didn’t have the mental bandwidth to process everything. It’s been a slow reading week. I haven’t been making much progress cos I’m exhausted at the end of each day and not reading much!

The Time of Your Life (The Millionaires Club #2) by Sandra Kitt ★★★☆☆
I didn’t up enjoying this as much as I thought I would. The intentional lack of communication made me a teensy bit mad! Check out my review.
Indigo by Beverly Jenkins ★★★★½
I’ve found another new favourite Jenkins romance! Even with the tense, angering, and heartbreaking reality of history, she manages to write a heartfelt and sensual romance full of yearning and I loved it. I loved Hester and Galen so much!

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands ⇢ 14%
I’m buddy-reading this with Leslie, Ali and Julie. I’m excited to dive back into this world with Emily and Wendell. This far in and I’m already loving them and their banter! 😍

Kindling ⇢ 32%
This is releasing on Tuesday next week so I’m actually reading an ARC on time (woo)! 😂 This is written in second-person and it was initially quite a challenge. I’ve gotten used to it now and I’m curious to see what’s gonna happen with these badass female soldiers!

I need to read my ARC of Kindling cos the pub date is coming up at the end of Feb but otherwise, I’ll see where my mood takes me!

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

Lack of communication literally the worst! I can’t stand it haha.

And they willingly didn’t communicate and it’s like WHY? 😭 it wasn’t a vibe lol

I’ve yet to read anything by Beverly Jenkins but I see so many rave reviews for Indigo.
Lack of communication… ugh. It will spoil a book for me every time.

Indigo was so great. I started with Night Hawk but Indigo would def be a great starting point too. And yes, we need to do away with lack of communication in books, esp. romances pls! Lol 🫣

So happy your loving Emily! It was so much fun to be back with those characters. There banter really is everything!
I just read A Love Song for Ricki Wilde and it was so beautiful!

I can’t wait to read Ricki Wilde! I haven’t seen anyone talk about it on the blogosphere and I don’t know why, lol. Excited to hear you loved it! 😍

Second person POV is definitely a challenge for me too. I think I’ve only read a couple of them, ever, but I always had a hard time adjusting so the first part of the book tend to be lousy for me 😭

Yeah, I wouldn’t say it was lousy for me but damn, it took a minute to get into it. I feel it kinda creates an emotional barrier as well but the subject is quite heavy already so maybe it’s a good thing? Lol let’s see. It’s working for me now!

You have me so curious about the Emily Wilde book! It’s such a pretty cover and I’m glad the buddy read is going well. 🙂
I also love yearning in romance so I’m curious in the Beverly Jenkins book. Is it a good place to start with if you haven’t read her before?

Emily Wilde is a fun cosy fantasy with a dash of romance, at least in book one. Let’s see if the romance gets more page time in book two!
I think Indigo or Night Hawk would be good places to start reading Bev Jenkins. Night Hawk was my first but I’ve seen a lot of others start with this! If you do read Jenkins, I hope you love her romances 😍

It İS intense! It’s quite depressing ngl, lol. But it’s good. Very well written and I’m invested in these characters and where their stories go!

Lack of communication is one of my biggest pet peeves with books! haha. Yes, the banter is amazing with Emily Wilde! I’m so enjoying it!! ❤

Yep, and the fact they chose not to communicate was like. HELLO? Are you okay? NO. Please. Talk to each other 😂 I can’t wait to continue Emily Wilde tomorrow! Might even purchase the audiobook so I can listen to it while packing for Japan.

ohhh, I forgot that Japan was coming up!! It’s going to be so good and such a great time!!! I know, I feel bad that I’ve barely read this week with all the crazy! I hope to really read some this weekend.

The cover for Kindling is so pretty! I hadn’t realized it was written in second person. That’s a tough thing to pull off, but now I’m super curious about it!

It’s GORGEOUS 😍 Love the details of the characters. The second person thing definitely threw me off at first cos I wasn’t expecting it at all. And while it’s not my favourite, it’s working for me now. This was a tough emotional read!
