#TopTenTuesday: Bookish Goals (sorta) for 2024

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Bookish Goals for 2024.

Last Friday, I posted about reading goals and whether they’re worth it and in that post I listed the few that I have. I’ve also made posts about two challenges I’m participating in: Choose Your Own Adventure Year in Aeldia 2024 & 2024 Buzzwordathon. After several years of reading and blogging, I’ve learned that keeping a few simple goals works better for me rather than overwhelming myself with too many goals at once. So this week, instead of listing 10 goals that I don’t have, I’m going slightly rogue and sharing five pre-2022 backlist titles and five overdue ARCs that I’m hoping to finally tackle this year for the Project Backlist Reading Challenge. My two goals for this reading challenge are:

  1. Committed Reader ⇢ Read an owned book a week (or a month)
  2. ARCrasinator ⇢ Clear overdue ARC list

Backlist Books

The Starless Sea
The Night Tiger
The Ten Thousand Doors of January
The Places I’ve Cried in Public
We Are Okay

Old ARCs

She Who Became the Sun
The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea
The Raven and the Dove
Where the Lost Wander
The Songbook of Benny Lament

Did you set many reading goals for yourself this year? Have you read any of these books or are they also still on your TBR?

  1. Good Luck Dini. This sounds very doable. I also have Where the Lost Wander and The Songbook of Benny Lament on my backlist ARC shelf. I am trying to read at least one ARC backlist book per week, starting with the ones that are the oldest (from 2014).

    • Thanks, Carla! It does sound doable, I just hope that I don’t lose steam halfway. That tends to happen with me, lol 🫣 I hope you enjoy the ARCs you get to and good luck with your one ARC per week goal. That also sounds doable and I believe you can do it! 😃

    • I’m admittedly a bit worried I’ll not enjoy She Who Became the Sun and I’m not even sure why cos it sounds amazing. Sorry to hear it wasn’t for you! But I’m glad to hear you loved Starless Sea. I hope 2024 will be the year I finally read it! 😂 Happy reading to you as well!

  2. I’m doing several challenges this year, but other than that I’m hoping to make a dent in some of my ongoing series and stay up to date with current releases on authors/series that I’m already up to date on. Good luck with the challenges you chose!!

    • Ooh, I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed it! It’s a very well loved book so I hope that I enjoy it as much as everyone else 🙂 I’m hoping to pick up We Are Okay soon as I seem to be in the mood for more serious sad books, lol. Happy reading to you as well, Alicia!

  3. I was so surprised I had ten. Of course I separated the book cart and bookshelves goal when in my head I lumped them together but still. You have some wonderful reads to catch up on. Good luck with the challenge!
