#WWWWednesday: 22 November 2023

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I missed last week’s Wednesday post so this week’s post will include those books. Since the last update, I’ve finished 7 books and I DNF’d one.

Song of the Forever Rains (Mousai #1) by E. J. Mellow ★★★☆☆
This was a bit slower-paced (too much so at times) but the world-building was intriguing, the family banter was wonderful, the mysterious aspect was thrilling and the romance was sweet!

Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher ★★★★☆
This was surprisingly sweet and wholesome despite the dark undertones. Check out my review!

Dance of A Burning Sea (Mousai #2) by E. J. Mellow ★★★★☆
This was full of wild adventures, wicked pirates, intriguing magic and an intensely swoony romance. The characters really grew on me and this easily became my favourite in the trilogy!

Her Big City Neighbor (Cider Bar Sisters #1) by Jackie Lau ★★★☆☆
While I liked it enough by the end to continue the series, overall, it was just okay for me. Check out my review!

Stolen in Her Wedding Gown (The Greeks’ Race to the Altar #1) by Amanda Cinelli ★★★★☆
I didn’t expect to but I surprisingly loved this! It was intense, angsty, and sharp if not a bit bonkers with the plot. If you love the marriage-of-convenience trope with characters that have sizzling chemistry, check it out!

Royally in Trouble (Royal #2) by Meghan Quinn ★★½
I’m glad I read the sequel but it was too drawn out, too angsty and much too dramatic with the lack of communication for my liking.

(ARC) ‘Tis the Damn Season by Kimi Freeman ★★☆☆☆
If you’re a Swiftie, you’ll know where this title comes from. I chose to read it because of the title but sadly, this didn’t work for me at all! I learned upon finishing that the author is only 16 and it’s fantastic she was able to get this published it just wasn’t for me.

The Roses of May41% → This is my current train-ride-to-work read but I haven’t been reading on the train much these past two weeks because I’ve been working, lol. 😂 It’s starting to get quite intense + I’ve got theories so I’m enjoying it.

I haven’t decided what else I’ll be reading though.

My mood is in a weird place so it really depends on that but I have no possibilities on the radar as of yet! 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

    • I’m kinda bummed out that I didn’t enjoy it more either. It left me with very mixed feelings and I was originally leaning towards a 3 but having had other 3-star reads following that I was like hmm, okay, maybe my feelings were less than a 3! It felt very long 😮‍💨
