#WWWWednesday: 8 November 2023

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

The last time I updated this, it was mid-October and it’s now the first of November. How time flies! I haven’t really been reading that much over the past couple of weeks though and since the last time I updated, I’ve finished 4 books.

Assistant to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain #1) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer ★★★½
I had no idea of the TikTok notoriety behind this book but it was a silly fun time. I can see why people wouldn’t enjoy it but I’m glad I did! 😂 Check out my review.

Sweet Surrender (The Sutherlands: One Family #9) by Naima Simone ★★★☆☆
As can be expected when picking up a Naima Simone book, this was a quick, angsty, and erotic romp.  I wanted a bit more story for each character outside of the physical but this was about their sexual journey and how reconnecting proved that the years did nothing to diminish their feelings for each other! Recommended if you’re looking for a fast-paced erotic romance!

Bargain with the Beast (Fairy Tales Unleashed #1) by Naima Simone ★★★½
Once again, Naima Simone knocks it out of the park with the emotional angst, sexual tension and intense steamy scenes in this book. We have two strong-willed and passionate MCs which results in an explosion of chemistry when they finally come together in this erotic Beauty and the Beast retelling.

Still Hung Up On You by Liz Maverick ★★★★☆
This was such a great audiobook! I loved how the narrators brought these characters to life—their chemistry was fantastic and I believed all the awkward, adorable, super cheesy moments! 😍 A super quick listen/read if you have Audible. Very recommended!

  • Song of the Forever Rains79% → This has been on my radar for a while and I picked it up on a whim the other day. It’s darker and slower-paced than I expected but I’m enjoying this twisted world and its magic! This is the first in a trilogy and I’m keen to read the other two books as well.

  • Thornhedge36% → This is my train-ride-to-work read but I’ve been WFH for the past two days as I’ve been unwell, so I haven’t picked it up since Monday morning. I can’t wait to pick it up again OTW to work tomorrow!

My mood is in a weird place so it really depends on that but I have no possibilities on the radar as of yet! 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!
