#WWWWednesday: 1 November 2023

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

The last time I updated this, it was mid-October and it’s now the first of November. How time flies! I haven’t really been reading that much over the past couple of weeks though and since the last time I updated, I’ve finished 5 books.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Demon (Mead Mishaps #1) by Kimberly Lemming ★★★★☆
This book doesn’t take itself seriously and I loved the story all the more for it because it was really just as fun as the title makes it out to be. I admit that the mix of modern slang and somewhat ‘ye olde English’ language took a little bit to get used to but I found myself constantly laughing at Cin’s antics and how Fallon willingly gets dragged along for the ride. Their romance was equal parts cute but also very sexy with lite BDSM vibes.

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted A Love Potion at A Werewolf (Mead Mishaps #2) by Kimberly Lemming ★★★★☆
I loved this just as much as the first book in the series. Brie was so funny and I loved her healthy dose of skepticism but also her “fork it all” energy that meant she just went with the flow. Felix had the BIGGEST golden retriever energy of any werewolf shifter that I have ever read and it was ADORABLE—until it was ridiculously sexy and wow, hot. 🥵 This was SO much fun and I can’t wait to read more by Lemming!

For Her Safety (The Knight Brothers #2) by Dria Andersen ★★★★☆
I think I enjoyed this second book even more than the first. Silas was a great MMC and Mila was also easy to root for. I loved the family that they make together with Silas’ daughter, Riyah, who was adorable and wholesome. I’m a fan of Andersen’s panther shifter romances! It’s action-packed, low-angst and delightfully steamy.

The Duke Gets Desperate (Sirens in Silk #1) by Diana Quincy ★★★★☆
This was an angst historical romance between two characters who didn’t seem like they’d fit together but did so perfectly! The angst, the tension, the HEAT—oof, this got steamy and I loved it. Raya and Anthony were a great couple and I really enjoyed their story! 😍

My Roommate Is A Vampire by Jenna Levine ★★★½
This was different than I expected but not in a bad way. It was a great paranormal romcom and a perfect pick for a light-hearted spooky season read. I often laughed out and I enjoyed following Cassie and Frederick’s story. Teaching an old vamp new tricks is definitely a fun time!

It took a while for me to figure out what I wanted to read next and I finally settled on Assistant to the Villain. I’ve seen some very mixed reviews about this one and it seems people either love or hate it. I wouldn’t say I’m loving it but I am enjoying this read. It’s a slightly ridiculous but fun time and I’m honestly here for the simpleness. I really want to know more about The Villain!

More ✨spooky-season-but-make-it-lite reads✨ and hopefully, soon, all the BIPOC reads for the #23for23 challenge, too!?! 🤞🏽

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

  1. Okay the Lemming books sound fun. Can you read them independently or do they need to be read in order?? I hope that you have a lovely week, my friend! ❤
