Since last Wednesday, I finished three books.
(ARC) Shucked (The Loew Brothers #1) by Kate Canterbary ★★★★½
What can I say other than I loved this? The grumpy sunshine vibes were immaculate. The yearning! The simp energy! The “forbidden” feelings and sexual tension! It was AMAZING in addition to wonderful MCs, interesting secondary characters and a lovely small town. Check out my review!
Role Playing by Cathy Yardley ★★★★☆
This was ridiculously adorable. I may not have played MMORPGs in years but I have often watched gamers play over the years and I loved reading about it in a romance. I loved the mature characters, the late-in-life exploration and acceptance of sexuality, and how Maggie would’ve brawled over everyone who treated Aiden like crap, including his horrible family. Ugh, ALL THE FEELS with this one! 😭
I Could Never by Penelope Ward ★★☆☆☆
I know I said I was gonna DNF this and I probably should’ve but I hoped it would get better. Sadly, this was surface-level all the way through and the autism rep made me slightly uncomfortable? Not a read I would recommend and I’m sad that I bought it, lol.
- Maggie Moves On → 64% → I admit that it took me a while to warm up to the story! There was even a moment when I worried that it wouldn’t happen but that’s not eh case now! I love the small-town community, the quirky characters, the found family vibes, and Sy’s family is amazing!
- Rival Radio → 62% → Haven’t returned to this yet!
- The Stand-In → 16% → Haven’t yet returned to this!
Romance, romance, romance? And maybe a bit of fantasy… 😂

I think you’ll probably like Thornhedge. It is such a great reimagining of the original tale, and the writing is gorgeous.

It took a while but I finally ended up really enjoying it. I love the small town vibes, the found family, the warm fuzzy feelings—all of it!

It happened. After months of saying it was next, you are reading Maggie Moves On. I fell in love with this story right away. Anyhow, I am glad it is picking up for you. I loved the ending of this book

I KNOW! It has finally happened 😂 I finished it today and I did enjoy it although I have to admit that it took me a little while to get into it… but overall, it was great. I love small town vibes SO MUCH!

It was SO sweet! I wanted to give Aiden the biggest hug and protect him from his awful family 😭 He didn’t deserve what he went through!
