#TopTenTuesday: 10 Books I’m Wishing For!

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I Hope Santa Brings This Year/Bookish Wishes (Link-up those wishlists and grant some wishes for the holidays!)

It’s that time of year again and even though it’s meant to be the “most wonderful time of the year” it’s not always the case for everyone, so I hope that you’re all doing okay and taking care! 💜

This week’s prompt is about the books I hope Santa brings me this year but I’m definitely my own Santa because my family and I don’t celebrate Christmas, and I even spoiled myself already with a few book purchases the other day! So on that note, I’m slightly twisting today’s prompt and sharing 10+ books on my wishlist that I hope to add to my own physical shelf soonish! 😊

I’m counting these as one because they’re part of the Stay a Spell Series by Juliette Cross and I simply can’t wait to buy physical copies. These books quickly became faves over the last month of reading and I’d definitely re-read them again during the spooky season because they’re super fun paranormal romances ft. witchy sisters, paranormal shenanigans, and swoony simp love interests!

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub
The Worst Guy by Kate Canterbary
A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland
Valor by John Gwynne

One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
Somewhere Between Bitter and Sweet by Laekan Zea Kemp
Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young
The Prophets by Robert Jones, Jr.
We Are Not Free by Traci Chee

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your wish list? I hope you all get treated (or treat yourself) to the bookish goods your heart desires this year. 💜

  1. I have read several of the Stay at Spell series and really enjoy them! I love just about everything Juliette Cross writes, but this is my favorite series by her so far. I have copies of The Prophets and We Are Not Free on my TBR pile. I am looking forward to both of them. Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young sounds really good! I hope you enjoy all of these!

    • I discovered Cross through this series and I’m SO GLAD that I did! These books, especially the later ones, have become fast favourites for me and I absolutely adore this witchy family and their partners 😍 I can’t wait for the lat one to come out. I hope you enjoy Prophets and We Are Not Free as well and happy reading! 💜

  2. I hope you are able to add all of these to your shelves soon! I actually have an extra copy of A Taste of Gold and Iron I’d be happy to send you. It’s the hardcover UK version. I bought it before I was able to snag the special edition I wanted. So, I’m happy to pass it on. Just let me know!

    • Omg, what an offer! That’s so kind of you, Chris! I’m really considering it but it might cost a buttload just for shipping to Indonesia. 🫣 Did you get the Broken Binding special edition? That book is freaking gorgeous and I was sorely tempted to get it even though I hadn’t read the book yet. In the end, I missed out but it’s awesome you got your hands on a copy!

      • I did get a Broken Binding SE. I missed out the first go around and was super bummed (hence the spare copy). Then I was able to snag one during the sale of their extra stock. 🙂 I’m happy to send my extra copy if you’d like it. It won’t do anyone any good sitting on the shelf forever. I figured the shipping would be pricey, but I don’t mind. Just let me know where to send it if you’d like it!

  3. I hope you will be able to get all of these soon. We do celebrate Christmas, but it’s a family thing with a lot of food. We never actually do present for Christmas. I will definitely have to be my own Santa as well. I hope you are doing well and best wishes!

  4. Buying your own presents is always great, Dini. No surprise but also, no surprise. 😉

As you say, not everyone feels great at this time of year, too many expectations for some, too much stress. I am looking forward to a few days with our sons, though, as any mother, I’ve already been super busy preparing food, shopping for it, etc. But all in all, I’m really happy to have them here.

Thanks for visiting my TTT which only has five books this week.

      • Nice thoughts are never belated. We had all my family over yesterday, 20 people in all, including some small, very active kids, that was a little stressful, but even that was still nice. So, yes, I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. I hope the same for you.

  5. I’ve had Homegoing on my shelf for a few years. 🤦‍♀️ But I’ve got it penciled in on my reading challenge, so hopefully we both get to read it soon. I LOVED Spells for Forgetting, and We Are Not Free is so very good, too. I hope you get some of these soon!
